I've made some new dice this week, so i thought why don't i tell yall how i make them :))

I don't use any machinery, except a rotary tool. Everything is done by hand.

First i cut the material either by a fretsaw, or a dozuki saw.

Then i sand down the blocks until i get nice looking cubes. It doesn't sound like too much work, but in fact those 2 steps usually take hours to do.

To get the holes precisely where i need em i scratch a layout with calipers and drill holes with variety of drills and burs.

Time for inlay! Depending on inlay material, there are several ways to set it. The most complicated type is metal since it's heavy. The length of inlets depends on dot count on each side of the dice. Otherwise dice will always fall 6 dots down.

I also use pearl and crushed stone.

When i made dice with silver and golden dots, i also had to make the wire by myself. And it's a separate quest in itself, which included metal casting, ingot rolling and wire drawing.

Proudly presenting my first set of handmade dice!

I started making dice at the beginning of this year and it’s quickly become a rather fun side hobby of mine :)

This set is called “Oceana” and they were for a dear friend’s birthday, named after an elf druid they once had. I love how the confetti looks like fish scales and how the gradient is like looking into a deep, clear sea ahhhh. I hope my dice in the future can come out this good!
