Cowboy Themed Party for a 2yr Old
Judy's 2nd Birthday was fast approaching back in April & niggles from my 2nd pregnancy did tempt me into having a low key affair with just nibbles & cake.
However, the niggles from my 2nd pregnancy had got me compromising on a few things & so I decided to go all out & give Judy a cowboy themed party. How often does a girl turn 2? She is currently loving Toy Story. She LOVES Jessie & wears her hat whilst watching the film. She also LOVES Woody & Bullseye the horsey.
So no pressure on myself (!) I decided rather than a goodie bag the little'uns would get the accessories to be a cowboy, including a home made hobby horse!
I am a bit of a hoarder & collect cereal boxes. Cutting them up into A4 sheets I was able to print off some great horse heads onto the inside from a 'paint by number horse' search on Pinterest. *Remember to flip the image if trying at home to be able to make them double sided. I used PVA glue & pegs to sandwich both sides together remembering to leave space for the stick & handles. These were made from cheap bamboo sticks from the local garden centre wound with string to make the handles. (And a bit of tape on the ends for safety). Add to this a red bandana & a silver sheriff's badge (& a bag of sweeties) the goodie bags were done.
To complete the look I got a red & white chequered table cloth and visited Meri Meri online for their great party accessories - irritatingly the Cowboy stuff is labelled under the 'boy' section. So that aside, we got some great plates & napkins, but best of all these card cowboy hats!
I also made a simple western style 'Happy Birthday Judy' banner for the table.
Judy LOVED it.
As did her friends! They had a great day at the races!
And when it was time for everyone to go home, this Cowgirl sung the blues...
