This has to be one of the most amazing homemade houses, ever. It’s Clarence Schmidt’s “House of Mirrors” in Woodstock, NY, which started as a 1 room cabin that he kept adding on to, until it had 35 rooms & over 7 stories. It was presumed that he would’ve kept on adding, but it was destroyed by fire in 1968.

Architect James Hubbell has been building and adding to his home on a hilltop outside of San Diego, CA for over 30 years, and is a master of organic architecture. Hubbell opens his home to the public every year on Fathers' Day.

“Hercules” is a hand built cedar living-wagon set in it’s own little piece of woodland. What I love about it, are the painted retro cabinets and purple window frames.

This is the Eliphante House. It looks a little like a shoe w/eyes and nostrils, to me, though, and it’s creator Wesley Treat’s roadside resort.

The interior is colorful and artistic- very organic and sculptural.

I’ve never seen a mud hut. I wonder if the hand print on the wall belongs to the person who “sculpted” it.
