30. Weilan - anniversary | bondage
Zhao Yunlan wakes, gasping into consciousness. He pats frantically beside him, searching. Shen Wei’s hand is warm. He grasps it. Centers himself in the present.
Zhao Yunlan is in their bed, in their apartment, where they’ve built a life together, a year since Shen Wei reached into the burning prison of the Guardian Lantern and pulled him free.
Shen Wei stirs. When his eyes blink open, he looks to Zhao Yunlan, and a smile stretches sweetly over his face.
“Yunlan,” he murmurs. The last dregs of Zhao Yunlan’s nightmare fade away. He leans over to capture that smile for himself.
