A Hangclone omegaverse au WOULD HIT. I’ve had so many thoughts about those two but put them into an A/B/O dynamic and it’s even better. Like could you imagine prickly omega hangman going against his dynamic to try and court older alpha Cyclone. Cyclone would be head over heels but at the beginning he’d be super insecure because he knows jake could do better with someone younger and who isn’t a divorcee then he and Jake make it official and maybe they get a surprise little one on the way and Cyclone is super cocky about it. Or maybe its cocky alpha hangman trying to court older omega Cyclone. Maybe cyclone already has a pup or two from a previous mating and doesn’t want anymore and he cannot understand why for the life of him an Alpha like Hangman would want to be with him when he’s significantly older, already has kids with another alpha and doesn’t want anymore and addicted to his job.

Theres a lot of variations in my mind:

I think about omega!jake who had to push his omega-ness aside to get to where he is in the military cause of like, stigma or smth. He tries to just come across as a beta or even an alpha if hes lucky. He's never really gotten to indulge in omegan things. But then beau is taking a liking to him and jake feels safe and slowly leaves hints that hes more omegan than anyone suspected. Beau taking it all in stride and giving jake everything he needs to be able to really indulge. Helping him nest properly for the first time and letting him be vulnerable and put his guard down.

I also imagine omega!jake getting injured and maybe its before they get together but alpha!beau is so keyed up and flooded with adrenaline, hes pacing outside jake's hospital room cause the omega hes attached to is hurt but he doesnt know he jake wants him in there or not. So hes growling at people that walk past, almost not letting nurses in, he doesnt sleep a wink, hes so scattered and anxious and running on instincts. When jake finally wakes up he just smells protective alpha and gets this warm feeling of "safe".

And yeah, god, omega!cyclone with kids is so good. Maybe since he already had some and hes older he doesnt want anymore and hes scared that jake would be mad but turns out jake doesnt really care one way or the other about pups, he just wants beau. And honestly? If he doesnt need to share him thats a plus

I ALSO think about alpha/alpha hangclone. Like not only do they have the age gap and the rank gap, but now they have to battle the stigma of two alphas being together. Learning to work with one another and give each other what they need without being overbearing or doing it the wrong way.

Theres just so much potential and i am so fucking soft for them

Summary: The cohort isn't as bad as Cyclone fears. They all seem to know what a shower is, and how to properly apply scent blockers. Besides, once they're up in the air, Cyclone only has to listen to them over the communication devices. Unfortunately, flight time isn't a daily reprieve, and sometimes Cyclone's got to stand at the front of the classroom and lecture. None of them are particularly unruly — not like some of the stories his peers in flight school have relayed — which Cyclone attributes to solid leadership back in their home squadrons.

There's only one problem: they all don't get along. Not even the camaraderie of being chosen for TOP GUN is enough to overcome what are some glaring interpersonal issues. If the Navy allowed fisticuffs, Cyclone's certain more than one of them would settle the distaste with violence instead of words.

"Do you ever wonder if maybe alphas aren't fit to serve?" Cyclone asks Warlock after one particularly harrowing classroom session. "They're… incredibly emotional."

Warlock, whose face manages to betray his thoughts fairly often, simply looks at Cyclone with incredulity.

oh boy i have so many thoughts for them and none are coherent rn lolll but god I just have fallen head over heels for the ship. I'm just gonna word vomit okay?

something like, beau was the top gun instructor of Jake's year and he immediately had a soft spot for him, knew that he'd go far. he didn't see him again in person until the uranium mission and they were both so stressed that they didn't really get to talk much. Beau had to reem Jake out for infighting, and it was the most they'd spoken in years. beau saying something like "you're acting self sacrificing because you don't think you've got what it takes but you don't want it to be your fault that you fail." and just really digs into him and sees right through him and jake doesn't know how to react to any of it, doesn't know how to handle being seen so thoroughly. during the mission, I have it in my head that mav wanted coyote as dagger spare but cyclone pulled rank and got hangman the spare position, knowing that he would want to prove himself more than anything and wouldn't fuck it up. then we cut to post mission and beau apologises for what he said, that he was in the wrong and he actually thinks quite highly of jake. but jake brushes him off, sorta "no, no. you were right."

idk they give me like, slow burn vibes? jake enjoying being seen, not having to hide himself. beau has a soft spot for him and it just grows and grows and he doesn't know what to do about it. they kiss and like everything changes between them.

i've got 10k written of a hardcore smut fic for them that I'm not even half way through hahaha its pretty much that above but sexual, something something beau being jake's dom and giving jake absolutely anything he needs because jake needs someone to take some of his control away and help him sort out the cyclone (pun intended) that's raging in his head. jake is very wet meow meow in it. its a lot of pain play and cbt with plot and fluff and humour in it. also like, jake having had only bad experiences with doms so when beau focussed on aftercare and checking in on him constantly to make sure he's okay, jake is like,,,, enamoured by him haha

idk man idk if this made any sense but I have a lot of thoughts on them, I love them so much, I will draw art very soon probably ahahah I just feel like they work so well together.
