it's twotl's 4 year anniversary next week and @byk23 just let me know she just found out that 4 year anniversary is symbolised by fruits and flowers. So if anyone in the circle is going to post something up then @ the @fannibalgrowingcircle or message the link to me so I can share them. Any kind fruit or flower theme thing will be nice, food, pics, art, fibre arting, carving, ceramics, glasswork, basically let your imagination go wild!

Today’s hannigarden pic:

A squash flower! I think it’s a yellow summer squash. Can’t be certain for the squirrels ate most of my seeds and moved the rest around. well have to wait a few weeks.

I adore zucchini and summer squash. I love them fried but also sometimes layer them with mozzarella, Parmesan and tomato sauce. Nom. They make me happier than they should lol.

But for many many years I had a bad boyfriend relationship with zucchini. I’d give them oceans of time and attention and they gave me NOTHING. Heck I’ve even hand pollenated the darn things. (My neighbors would chuckle for I’d sing ‘zucchini sex’ while I did it like that would somehow help matters). But still they would give me NOTHING. finally the lady in the plot next to move suggested mushroom manure and VOILA! I suddenly I had ALL THE ZUCCHINI! I was a very very happy gardener indeed lol. I had more than I knew what to do with!

I wonder if my zucchini experience isn’t a little like our Hannibal and Will…. Maybe someone will do me a fannibal zucchini fic!

Hello hannigardeners! Today I’ll share a pretty flower from a purple long Bean I’m growing.

Just put my latest batch of kombucha in. This little guy is my experimentation with Apple Juice flavoring. Haven’t managed a fizz yet so just sticking to reg this time. Last time it made a baby Scoby so I’m leaving it. Figure it will just make it even healthier. Plus the scobies make it feel more like gardening than cooking lol
