Why i think Gaston and Hans would actually despise each others.
Similarities : their actions !
- wanted to protect town from monster and are see as hero by the town/kingdom
Here is what i think about them : they do common action but they have whole totally opposite personality and background that to me made me really think they would not be friend and despise each others.
1-Came from two very different world
gaston is a hunter who own a tavern , Hans is royalty the last prince of a king. two total different social background who made me think Hans would look down on Gaston he is peasant and Gaston will consider Hans a spoil little rich boy. Also gaston is the leader of a town hans is the 13th princes of a king.
2- Harass a girl and force her into marry him /break the heart of a girl and let her to die.
Gaston main goal in his life is too marry belle..for...well only for marry belle and feel himself good ! he is actively interest in woman. Hans officially was never interest in Anna what he was looking from the start is the crown not the girl. Gaston harass belle Hans reject Anna and abandon her to die. Gaston is actively researching woman contact Hans could have kiss Anna and then reveal himself he didn't even do it even Anna asking him to kiss him while their are people in the place make him uncomfortable which i definitely think would not have been the case for Gaston.
3- enjoy simple things of life/complicated his life with plans.
one of the thing that is great with Gaston is that he seems to be a simple man ! he hunt , he eat dozen eegs , he hunt , he go the tavern he enjoy life. while Hans well he spoil time making plans , comploting , making strategic what to do to be king ? who not to do ? to me gaston will just not understand why Hans complicate his life that much and will saw what Hans did as a waste time.
Hans pass his whole thinking about what to do what do not to have what he wants;
5-rude to have what he wants/social chameleon
even tough Gaston is like by the whole town when he present himself to belle most of the time he is just himself ! he dont hide his personality to belle. if it was Hans i think he would have read belle whole library. Hans him like his creator say he makes the others feel conformable , social chameleon which i dont think gaston is even tough he is like by the whole town they like what belle despise.
to quote Anna about Hans : “excuse me he is a prince !” 😄
to me Hans would not like gaston ruddiness and lack of manners.
7- spontaneous/calculating/honest/dishonest
gaston seem to be pretty spontaneous most of the time he dont calculate things ( minus the plan to put Maurice on a asylum) , while on the contrary Hans is calculating. Hans lies gaston not really.
not only gaston think woman should no read but he dont like book without pictures and himself just dont like read. Hans on the contrary as a prince had to read and be educated even if he is the 13th prince of the southern isles. Even to go on arendelle he must have made actual research and have knowledge about the kingdom he wants to be king. So since he is a prince and has ambitions this is most likely that he likes book.

10- bully/victim of bullying.
Gaston mock maurice , use lefou as a thing to humiliate Hans is mock by his 12 oldest brothers constantly so it made me think that perhaps hans will saw gaston as one of his oldest brothers.
11- Different view of women
On a frozen heart it say that hans has empathy for his mother and sister in law to be ignore by his father and brother
This one is something we saw on a frozen heart Hans think he is worthless a throwaway while gaston think he is the best an of the town and that belle should be lucky to be marry to him.
