A small, indistinct altar laid secluded among nature. It was featureless, dark jade shrine no taller than Amaterasu herself; whatever details that once identified this shrine had either been weathered away by the toils of rain and snow, or it was left in such a amorphous state to mark its purpose as a sort of wayward shrine for those who wandered. Moss and verdant shrubbery had slightly grown over it, suggesting that it perhaps had not been touched in months, maybe years. A small pond surrounded the shrine, and overcasting it was a single, naked cherry tree, shriveled and bare from the season’s bitter air. Oddly enough, the snow seemed to be thawed away in the area surrounding the shrine, revealing only dead grass and wet earth.
It certainly would’ve taken an observant eye to have caught sight of it, given how hidden it was amidst its little crevice of nature. Amaterasu surely would’ve overlooked it, had it not been for a crouched, steady figure of a man who sat kneeling before it. She had been lured by his scent, vaguely reminiscent of home, having caught wind of it while patrolling District oo6 as she usually tended to do.
What he was doing was a mystery to the canine. Perhaps he sought the guidance of his gods or spirits.. or perhaps he wasn’t much of a spiritual person and decided to meditate somewhere peaceful. Whatever it was that he was doing... he certainly had piqued the wolf’s curiosity. Amaterasu did her best to approach silently from behind, reaching some feet behind the man before lightly resting her weight upon her hindquarters. She sat and watched, silently observing this man who seemed so very deeply lost in his thoughts.
