I finally felt motivated to do this. It’s short, but it counts. This ended up a little more bittersweet than fluffy, though, and I’m sorry (but I still like how it turned out), so I hope it’s good enough! And very AU. Definitely a sweet “What if~” moment. :D

Drabble #127 - Flowers
“How long have you had belladonna flowers on your coat?” Blake asked, tilting her head to the side. She tapped her finger along the edge of her lip, looking over Adam’s broad back. “I’m pretty sure those weren’t there last time I saw you.”
“They weren’t,” Adam said. He brushed off the shoulder of his coat, grinning back. “It’s also a brand new coat. Embroidering underneath something that’s already there is rather difficult.”
“So you bought an entirely new coat to put belladonna flowers on it,” Blake said. She shook her head and covered her mouth. “Why would you do that?”
“To remind me that you’ve always got my back,” Adam said. He touched Blake’s cheek with a naked hand, his gloves on the side table. He felt warm and she leaned into it until he cupped her entire cheek and rubbed under her eye with his thumb. “We’re partners.”
“Partners,” Blake repeated. She reached up and tugged on the front of his jacket, moving the tips of her fingers back and forth along the rose markings on the front. “They’re very pretty, but you know, belladonna flowers are poisonous. Is that really what you want to have on your jacket?”
“If they’re associated with you? Of course,” Adam said. He kissed the top of Blake’s head and moved away. He turned around and tugged on the side of his jacket to stretch out the emblem. “Besides, it’ll remind everyone that we’re both more dangerous than we look.”
Blake laughed and got up, gathering her things. “Let’s not be too dangerous now.”
“No promises,” Adam said. “But we do need to get a move on. This break has been long enough. There’s work to do.”
“Agreed,” Blake said. She strapped her weapon to her side and followed Adam toward the rendezvous point.
She watched the belladonna flowers twist on the back of his jacket as he moved, snuggled under his rose.
The new animation kind of reminds me of the Digimon movie :o!
ive never watched the digimon movie, but i get what you mean, lol. i know that the new digimon tri character designs are by the same designer as tsuritama which i feel is similar to the sm style!
didn't marik send mai to "the shadow realm" (death), but then she came back? unless he sent her to a different place? idk i'm confused 'cuz I only watched the dub of yu-gi-oh! ;;. so, every character that pretty much got sent to the shadow realm in the anime, actually died?
What I remember from the Japanese series and manga is that she’s trapped in a shadow realm sort of place BUT she dies after being there for 24 or 48 hours or something. So it was a slow lead up to death, but she never actually died and came back from the brink of whatever that place was.
In the dub, she just risked being in that lonely world for the rest of her life and I’d assume not really ‘dying’, but never getting out of her comatose state. So Mai didn’t die in either version.
But it shows that a sort of in-between world where the purpose is to make you suffer isn’t the dub’s invention. The dub just extends the pain and denies the sweet release of death. :)
what are your favorite ff7 pairings? btw i like that you said cloud/sephiroth is similar to adam/blake, i feel that they have that kind of rivalry going on, they're also kind of similar. i also see arkos somewhat similar to cloud/aerith.
Oh, Man. FF7~ Heck yeah. And yeah, Adam reminds me more of Sephiroth than anyone else he’s been compared to lately (I still can’t see the Kylo Ren comparison. *squints at fandom*) & I totally see Cloud/Aerith as an Arkos kinda ship. XD
But as far as what I sip in FF7:
Sephiroth x Cloud - Easily top of the list. Though I like them antagonistic more than anything. They’re a really great rival/bicker pairing and I don’t want to lose that under romantic sap.
Squall x Cloud - I played Kingdom Hearts long before I even knew what Final Fantasy even was. So yeah, this one’s up there, because it’s similar to the above: bicker buddies. XD Though I do really like it as a crossover ship as well as a KH one.
Zach x Aeris - I’ve got these two for all my Romantic Sap needs, thank you very much! But for real. They’re ridiculously adorable and hopelessly romantic and I love them.
Zach x Cloud - I’m super picky with this one, but I’ll ship it depending on the situation.
Aeris x Cloud - This was what I pushed for hard in the game. Don’t get me wrong, I like Tifa, but Cloud & Aeris was my thing. Ug. I worked so hard for that date. XD
Barrett x Dyne - Barrett is raising Dyne’s kid. They meant something important to each other gosh darn it. Brothers. Romantically. Whatever. I loved Barrett’s story arc in that game and I want to see more of it in the fandom.
Vincent x Cloud - Another picky one, but I do sometimes indulge.
Cid x Shera - They got married. How can I not?
Tseng x Rufus - Bodyguard pairing for the win.
Reno x Everyone - Well, not everyone. But I ship him with the most people. XD Like Rufus, Rude, Elena and Cloud. XD
Reeve x Scarlet - Don’t ask. Just. I blame Team Four Star and their abridged series. One stupid throw away joke and I’m like “Yes. I like this pairing. Good.” XD
