Who doesn’t love Blink-182′s I Miss You? Though it bucks the adored California band’s usual skate punk and pop punk style, it’s sure the nostalgic, sentimental anthem and a timeless hit to be cherished forever. And it contains references to The Nightmare Before Christmas, one of Tim Burton’s greatest films (alongside the likes of Edward Scissorhands and more). Happy Sometimes, a 21 year old producer, singer, and songwriter from Los Angeles, obviously adores the song too. By fortuitous chance, we came across her cover of I Miss You, an airy sheer bedroom pop interpretation with modulated vocals. The self produced and edited rendition sure piqued our ears. We eagerly dove into her originals on Soundcloud and came up with last year’s Heartbreaker, which you can stream below. It’s a cinematic and impassioned pop anthem from the rather mysterious artist that emanates the fire and fortitude we oft love about Transviolet. Listen to Happy Sometimes on Spotify, here.
