Cat Game Jam coverage
The Purina Friskies Games for Cats Hackathon has spawned a multitude of games for cats, Happy Wings being perhaps the most pleasant looking of them.
The minimalist artstyle features some suprisingly smooth animation as dragonflies fly across the screen. With the help of my trusty cat, Happy wings seems like a great way to quickly scratch my iPhone/iPad screen.
My cat enjoyed Happy Wings moreso than any other submission from the cat game jam. Whilst there isn't longevity in the game (it's the same content in each levels, just a alternate colour scheme) my cat was keen to destroy my phone for a good two minutes. Let's be honest- my cat doesn't care about a sense of progression; only about causing death to others. Perhaps a similar motive to the human gamers on Xbox Live shouting obscenities.
