Shots to heavens this year's a blast!

I gotta say that this year has been a rain of blessings and opportunities for me. 

I remembered my New Year's Resolution for this year would be for me to write more poems, short stories - something which I didn't explore to much this year due to tons of work in office and in school.

However I got to be a part of Thomasian Writers Guild - a creative literary unit of UST. I'm privileged to be a few selected, together with my friend Arianne Zacharias. Although our writing skills are still on the rocks, we are working on it. Maybe I should aspire of joining Gawad Ustetika for the last time next year. Nothing really is impossible as long as I try, right?

Next would be my OJT experience in Tropiks Design Studio. I must say that times are rough, especially as I try to balance myself to perform well in school and to comply with the hour at the office. I am very thankful to this opportunity that I had dreamt of ever since last year. Now, I am a part of a family that shares love for heritage, Philippine Architecture, even in music interests, gimmicks, etc. It's a blast to walk through different places such as Ilocos, Laguna, Quezon, Pampanga, Manila. To travel while working, to see amazing heritage structure in each and every town is fulfilling and inspiring. It gives me that added dose of energy to continue what's left behind and to be a medium to other people for them to love what's in store for them.

Although we are not recognized this year, one of the things I treasure the most is that I became the president of Heritage Conservation Society - UST Chapter. It is pretty amazing; from the rough days of designating officers up to organizing and inviting events in line with heritage. It is TOUGH. And no person is a team. Now I realize in the big, real, harsh world, it is very difficult for advocates to fight what is worth fighting for. For them to inculcate to the minds of the people the importance of something that seems to blend in the ashes of filthy Metropolitan air. For them to see the majesty behind such great architecture - from the blood, sweat, and tears of every Filipino, it is big task at arm.

I'm ignited and will continue to burn that passion not just the size of a candle's wick but the length farther what my eyes could reach. I believe that everything has its story to tell, and lesson to teach in everyone of us. I shall continue this vision, forever.

Lastly, is to be entwined with a woman who held my hand every step of the way. She's been in my world of misery and happiness. I am very thankful to Melanie Tolentino for letting herself into my life. No words would ever be good to describe her. She is beautiful, understanding, hardworking, intelligent. She is lovable, spontaneous, and joyful. 

She is my everything.

And I thank for every actions, whether they're planned or not, because it led me to the right track. It may be uncomfortable, but surely it was worth it.

I'm looking forward for my article to be released nationwide in bookstores. Currently, I'm a contributor in Shelter Magazine. I thank Jmar Atienza for introducing me to the editor of the architectural and design magazine. Thanks to TWG for being my stepping stone. 

My resolution back then is simple, but it led me to series of opportunities. It branched and grew in due time. With blood, sweat, and tears shed, definitely, this tree of hope and dreams starts to climb up above, but still rooted at the ground.
