Merry Christmas: Free Speech & Why It Matters
It seems like these days we’re walking on eggshells because people have to watch what they say, or they’ll offend somebody. It used to be way easier to avoid offending anybody before twitter was invented.
Like any grown mature adult would know better than to use sexist, racist or homophobic slurs. I had no issues with not using those words because I know it’s offensive & it’s wrong. But Social Justice Warriors aren’t satisfied with that.
They want to censor more things that offend them, words or phrases that have nothing to do with hate speech. So what am I talking about? Saying phrases like “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Hanukkah” instead of “Happy Holidays” is offensive to Social Justice Warriors.
Why? Because it’s not “inclusive” enough. Keep in mind, these are just holiday greetings. It’s completely harmless to say Happy Hanukkah or Merry Christmas to someone who doesn’t celebrate it. I don’t celebrate either holiday, but I welcome people to tell me Happy Hanukkah or Merry Christmas.
But these crazy Social Justice Nazis want to dictate what we can or can’t say. They want to limit our freedom of speech in the name of “political correctness”, no matter how harmless the speech is. The only ones getting offended by this is SJW’s themselves.
These SJW’s are more likely Atheists who are offended at the very idea of Christmas & Hanukah because it celebrates Christian & Jewish holidays. However they are too dumb to realize that Christmas isn’t a Christian holiday, it’s a Pagan Holiday.
If they did any research, they would know that. Anyways what’s the point of free speech if we have to limit or watch what we say? It’s stupid to want to take away or limit free speech, especially over something as harmless as a holiday greeting.
Anyways Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy Festivus for the rest of us.
