I'm back with another random ask!!

So, backstory: Chuck Jones is my great grandma's brother. Because we were members of his family, when he had a baby he sent out these prints to people that were close to him and one ended up falling into my dad's hands. (he actually scanned this for me years ago)

BUT MOSTLY I thought you might just wanna see art you maybe haven't seen before of Bugs with a baby ♥️

BJ you need to know that I when I first opened this ask and saw the drawing, I ended up pacing for a few minutes because I was so emotional, I never seen this painting before and first let me just say thank you for sharing this 💗💗💗 I appreciate it so much and I’m honored to get to see it, but also that’s incredible that Jones was your great grandmother’s brother and you have that type of family lore!

Now the picture itself is making me teary eyed because not only does Bugs looks so soft and tender here, but you can see Jones’ happiness radiating through this piece and the shear warmth and joy he must’ve felt having a baby. Not only that but seeing Bugs holding an infant got me yearning SO BAD now!!

In addition to SCOOBY DOO AND GUESS WHO? today Boomerang @Boomerangtoons dropped a bunch of MGM Cartoon shorts onto the Boomerang Streaming Service. These include many, most or all of the Happy Harmonies shorts directed by Rudolf Ising and Hugh Harman for MGM including the 1936 “To Spring” that might be William Hanna’s first directing credit. (uncredited) There’s also a ton of Tex Avery including “Field And Scream” (1955) which is similar to many Goofy cartoons, “Bad Luck Blackie” (1949) “Little Rural Riding Hood” (1949) and 3 of the 5 Screwball Squirrel shorts. There’s one b&w Captain And The Kids short “Cleaning House” from 1938 directed by Robert Allen. This assortment also includes Chuck Jones’ 1967 adaptation of the Frank Tashlin book “The Bear That Wasn’t” that feels a lot like his adaptation of “The Grinch That Stole Christmas”. I was going to make a complete list, but there is only so much space allowed in an IG post. Also I want to go to sleep sometime before I work tomorrow.
