Hi, Kihaku! I'm sorry this is random, but I have a question! I was watching Jeopardy and it mentioned the enzyme pepsin being the name base for the drink Pepsi and it said it was named after a native plant from Africa! I looked it up, but I didn't find anything. I was wondering if you knew anything about it?

While I've heard about pepsi/pepsin before, I have never heard of a any plant with such a name. All sources I've found on the internet relating to it all lead to that jeopardy question... So my guess is that it's either a fact that is hiding in an old book somewhere, or it is a bunch of hogwash that jeopardy messed up with.

Is anyone else familiar with any plant being called anything like pepsin/pepsi????
