No one talks about the hard days. The days it feels like your body is fighting to just barely survive. The physical and mental drain it does. Then you sleep and get up and do it all over again.
The worry if you will be able to keep going, but you know you must. You must work, you must survive.
No one talks about those days. How just hearing their voice gives the strength to take another step. If not for yourself, for them.
Strength is not measured in how much you can lift. True strength is in these hard days. Knowing you can't stop those hard moments and hard days. So you do the only thing you can. You reach out and hold them, even in distance, and tell them they're not alone, that you'll do it together.
No one talks about those days. But those are the days you need them the most, it's on those hard days...💙✨
Hard Days
Everything feels heavy
and I fear I am
not built for this.
Did I take on
more than I can chew?
My body is heavy
and fighting feels like...
too much.
I fought hard the other day
for my rightful pay.
I thought we were finally
getting somewhere.
The way we spoke,
made it sound like
I was getting paid back
for all of my unpaid jobs.
I'm only getting eight dollars.
The doordash ceo
saw my emails
and passed them on
to another man.
He called me
and sent me two emails.
They detailed that they
saw my inquiry
and encouraged me to
take my screenshots
and document everything.
They did not say
I will be getting my payment.
They said the blow to
my completion rating
has been waved.
They keep saying that,
but it's still there.
It very much still
is affecting my completion rating.
I am stuck.
I don't know
what to do.
I don't know
where to go.
I don't know how
to get out of this
horrible job.
It is a cycle
I keep starting over
no matter how hard
I fight.
I do not have the energy
to fight today.
Nor did I yesterday.
I am sad.
Numbness consumes my body.
Everything is too hard.
I want to crawl
into the long grass
and inch my way around
like a worm.
I want to give up,
oh so very bad
but that's more the reason
for why I can't.
This job sucks
and I don't recommend it
for anyone.
In fact,
If you are able to-
stay away from food delivery
jobs completely.
They exploit their workers
by overworking
and under paying.
All the money you make
goes to gas or your car.
It is difficult to make a profit,
you are basically working for free.
I didn't fight yesterday.
I don't want to fight today.
I will fight tomorrow.
I will get out of this rut
and get a new job.
No matter how hard
that may be.
I can do hard things.
You can do hard things.
We can stand up
to corporations.
We do not need to take this
lying down.

Next time you're stuck feeling negatively about yourself, remind yourself that you are allowed to struggle with negative feelings, but you shouldn't mistake a feeling for reality.
Maybe they were right about me.
Maybe I am too much.
Too difficult. Too broken.
Maybe I’ll just end up breaking anyone
who tries to fix me.
Maybe I’m not meant to be loved like that.
But I’m still trying… in my own quiet way.
