So I'm not much one for AUs, especially apocalypse-style, but Hard Prayer is *fabulous*

Basically the plotline is that there was a plague and John managed to survive it and has been on his own for a year before Rodney stumbles across him. John has basically given up on everything, but agrees to attempt to get Rodney to Colorado Springs because Rodney is convinced the military base there will still be around. (John doesn't know about the Stargate, Rodney does but doesn't want to sound crazy). This covers their journey to Colorado Springs and all the psychological trauma that goes along with being literally the last two men on the face of the planet.
