You're gonna leave me?
Do you still think you’re evil, Louis? (Maybe… but now I make USE of it…)
~~~~~
‘Why, with this passion and this sense of justice, do you wish to call yourself the child of Satan!’
‘I’m evil, evil as any vampire who ever lived! I’ve killed over and over and will do it again. I took that boy, Denis, when you gave him to me, though I was incapable of knowing whether he would survive or not.’
‘Why does that make you as evil as any vampire? Aren’t there gradations of evil? Is evil a great perilous gulf into which one falls with the first sin, plummeting to the depth?’
‘Yes, I think it is,’ I said to him. ‘It’s not logical, as you would make it sound. But it’s that dark, that empty. And it is without consolation.’
~~~~~
Denis, we shall not forget you. In Marius’ hands, you’d be a vampire now too!
(Louis, I’m sorry - my sleeve was too powerful and obscured you!)
Louis by @toriangeli - look he was bestowed with a magic feather!
One more on this. It needs some playing in & won’t stay in tune well yet, but just trying to different styles on the Hardanger Fele…
I take your 0.3 seconds, research lathing hatchet/hammers, try desperately to tune the Hardanger Fiddle again, and make music for it.
I don’t know the context… so we shall call it:
ANGUISH.
Also, I think… there are ways I deeply relate to Nicolas… beyond the violin - in perception of reality and existence… in feeling? In understanding?
But this 0.3 seconds is an example of one place we oppose. If there is a monster in Nicolas that would burn the world and himself down, in me, there is a ghost, scanning the world, thinking, “How is everyone else so real, just by being, when I could scream and scream… except I wouldn’t scream, because I can’t… and even if I did… nothing would hear or feel it…?”
But in music alone, I can scream… Scream it UGLY. Scream it in sound. CACOPHONY!
LOL, I haven’t actually watched this. I guess repeated hatcheting will be quite intense?! 😅😇 But maybe so is the fiddle? 🎻
PS Daniel is here because it was Eric’s birthday & also because Daniel would get it too.
Nicki and Daniel by @toriangeli. Also I've gone and done it - I've really lost Nicki's shoe, even though I tied it to him! Still it fell off and I can't find where! Oh noooooooooooooo! Cinderella needs his Prince to retrieve it! 😭😭😭
I’m missing my violins, so here’s my Hardanger Fiddle… which is likely not perfectly in tune - it was hard to tune her because (a) she’s not been tuned properly in ages and (b) the reason I don’t play her more is she has sympathetic strings… and if one of those was to snap, I have no clue now to put a new one on, hahahaha.
Anyway - Hardandger fiddles are more suited to double stops/folky playing than vibrato due to their design (the flatter fingerboard - and the effect of the sympathetic strings which just resonate while you play!) so the style of music they’re good for - yeah… it’s different. And they may not be tuned the same as violins either… Though I tune mine like a violin… anyway!
Here she is!
Anyone know more about them? I’m not even sure I’m tuning the understrings like I’m meant to & I’m sooooo scared to tighten them too much!!!
Would you like to hear more from her ever?
Nicolas by @toriangeli with my Hardanger fiddle!
And strings I might put on Nicolas' violin if I can work out how to tie non ball-end strings!
Would you like to hear more Hrdanger Fiddle?
Yes
No
