Laughter.
In every adventure, there will be the great, funny and sad moments. But as long as you have friends by your side, there will be laughter. For all the sad things that happen and even with all the deaths that occur, your friends will always be able to bring laughter on this adventure. It’s like a balance between the good and the bad.
… Until all of them are gone and you are alone.
At that moment, you can see when the laughter is all gone. What was once balanced with sadness has been overtaken by this sense of despair. Everyone dead, no one left to lighten up the mood.
While you try to complete the task at hand, you try to restore this light. You try to go back to the good times with your friends before they were all killed.
However, this sense of despair remains in the back of your mind as you travel the Fortress. No matter how many times you try to regain your sense of hope, deep inside the despair is taking over.
It doesn’t matter how much of the light of laughter you try to restore. Someone may be having a good laugh at your slowly draining sanity but you aren’t.
You’re alone.
And this light of hope is gone.
