"You’re right, I don’t understand." Harvey said calmly, taking a sip from his pint. "All I know is what I see, and I see a guy who’s had too much to drink." He finished off the glass, turning towards the other man.
"By the way, you’re drinking from a candle holder."
Harvey heard the bartender chuckle to himself.
Looking down, Ryan realised with dismay that the younger man was right. His tumbler sat near the edge of the bar, the last few dregs hidden by the ice cubes. The glass he had been glowering over held nothing but a pool of slowly cooling wax. At least he hadn't taken a sip. He directed a murderous glare at the men sharing a laugh at his expense, switching the glasses and taking another swallow from his drink.
"Go to hell."
