{ Morning arrived, bringing the scorching heat. Slowly, that ancient fiery sphere crawled across the eastern sky, approaching the western horizon. Scratch’s heavy eyes slowly opened, becoming aware of the hour. Lazily, Scratch rises from his temporary bedding. Stretching his frame, Scratch yawned loudly, while thinking how short the hours have been. }
{ Rubbing his back, Scratch felt pain, while his body adjusted. Yesterday was tiresome, with Scratch being busy. His sore muscles, aching bones, reminded him of his constant state. Scratch was no easy sleeper; he suffered night terrors. The Fiend’s terrible curse wrecked his sleeping habits. Night after night, Scratch was visited by the frightful amalgamations of his mind. Terrors so realistic, they reached out to grab Scratch. Chems however, provided him some relief. A cocktail of drugs helped him rest easy. Though, when these chems faded, Scratch could feel the pain of their absence. }
{ Grabbing his canteen, Scratch greedily consumed water. Pouring the water on his face, Scratch adjusted to the hour. Hours later, Scratch had claimed his morning meal. Slung over his shoulder, was an unlucky jackrabbit. Then suddenly, Scratch stopped, seeing someone inside his camp. The stranger was trespassing, standing right before his most coveted object, the motorcycle. }
“Hey!”
{ The Fiend yelled out, dropping the rabbit. Scratch then quickly equipped his shotgun. Friendly or not, Scratch didn’t welcome uninvited guests. }
