FOR ALL THE YEARS-- the decades, even, although time has long since fallen together, days a blur-- they’ve known each other, Drizzelda finds times where she must steel herself. Deep breaths in a hollow ribcage, eyes closed before she peers around her stronghold for the moment, water trickling down grooves in the bark where her hand presses down against the tree.
“--Hi.” And she almost deflates there, streak of confidence draining in a vain attempt to flip the script.
