I really love Takeshita's photography. (I am assuming he took these? The style matches his other photos.) Here are his pictures about the last match for Higuchi Kazukada:
"Higuchi Kazukada Last Ring / Harimao Forever / #ddtpro"
So a fan brought one of those grip strength testers to tonight's DDT show and had everyone they could test theirs, documenting each result in a tweet with photos. I'm a big fan of random information like this so here's everyone's results! Each person will include a link back to the original tweet (unless they were grouped in with someone else, in which case you'll see theirs in the last link).
Read the results and extra tid-bits from O.P below!
Kimihiro = 50.7 kg / 111.7 lbs
MAO = 66.0 kg / 145.5 lbs
GM Imabayashi = 39.3 kg / 86.6 lbs
Ref Matsui = 34.9 kg / 76.9 lbs
Ref Kiso = 42.4 kg / 93.4 lbs (Kiso was pleased to hear he beat Matsui)
Koroku = 43.3 kg / 95.4 lbs
Matsunaga = 55.6 kg / 122.5 lbs
Junta = 60.4 kg / 133.1 lbs
Masada = 57.7 kg / 127.2 lbs
Naomi = 57.8 kg / 127.4 lbs (Apparently he's lost 20 kg in grip strength since he cut weight, which is about 44 lbs)
Ishida = 41.1 kg / 90.6 lbs (Ishida, tipsy and in high spirits, was too loud and got told off by Naomi lol)
Akito = 50.1 kg / 110.4 lbs
Sanshiro = 43.6 kg / 96.1 lbs
Dieno = 46.7 kg / 102.9 lbs (Dieno used to be at 50 kg when he played soccer)
Hirata = The machine kept having an error whenever he tried to do it, which I guess means Hirata's grip is so strong you can't measure it in measly human numbers!
Shunma = 43.4 kg / 95.6 lbs
Yuni = 34.0 kg / 74.9 lbs
To-y = 62.7 kg / 138.2 lbs (The third strongest!)
Ueno = 56.6 kg / 124.7 lbs
Chris = 63.9 kg / 140.8 lbs (The second strongest!)
Sumi = 38.2 kg / 84.2 lbs (initially there was much confusion because the machine was set to lbs accidentally, making it look like Sumi had a grip strength stronger than anyone there)
Rukiya = 50.5 kg / 111.3 lbs
Harashima = 54.2 kg / 119.4 lbs
Naya = 51.3 kg / 113.0 lbs
Kanon = 81.9 kg / 180.5 lbs (the strongest of them all!)
I can't promise I'll find all of the things people have written about Higuchi, because so many people have kind things to say about him. But I want to share at least a few of them.
Yuki Ishida: No matter how many times I start writing, I end up deleting it. I can't put it in words well enough.
I owe so much to you.
Thank you so much for including me in Harimao.
Until the end, let's keep running through at full power, together as Harimao.
Naomi Yoshimura: To me, Higuchi-san was the senior who looked after me in public and private matters, the comrade who trusted me to watch his back, and the opponent I wanted to beat.
Let's keep fighting together until the end.
As Kazusada Higuchi, Naomi Yoshimura, Yuki Ishida, and Ryota Nakatsu of Harimao.
Daichi Sato: In the year since I joined DDT, he's really taught me so many things.
For us heavyweights, Higuchi-san was a big wall we have to overcome.
It's because that wall was there that I've been able to become so huge and strong. Thank you so much.
I will continue onwards with everything you've taught me in my heart.
Yuya Koroku: He was actually the first senior who looked after me after I joined, and he taught me so much about both pro wrestling and other things.
I'll keep working hard with the things I felt through your matches and the things you taught me in my heart.
Thank you so much.
Yukio Naya: As one of DDT's heavyweights, he's always been at the forefront
as the wall for us to overcome
I've been wrestling all along thinking that one day I'd overcome him
Not being able to challenge when he was the champion is my greatest regret
It's lonely thinking we can't have another match
Thank you for lots of fights
and thank you for lots of lessons
Sanshiro Takagi: He's the wrestler who embodied strength at DDT, and he's often saved me with his hard work. I want to properly send off Kazusada Higuchi, who's been such a huge presence at DDT. Thank you to everyone.
Super Sasadango Machine: My beloved drinking buddy. I have lots of memories, but my favorite has to be when he nailed Hiragana Muscle in an instant. Higuchi will definitely be all right even after this. There's a wonderful life waiting even after retirement.
Daisuke Harada: I'm also asymptomatic in the same location.
I think that because there are no symptoms, it can be hard to completely accept.
I was surprised when I got my test results too!
But we can keep living!
We can keep loving pro wrestling!
I'll be wishing for you to be able to keep on smiling!
Life is about staying alive!
Saki Akai: He was my junior, but he was always reliable and a huge presence for me to look up to. The time we were able to spend together and the many matches we were able to see are precious to me.
Retirement is a breakpoint, but the things we've built up continue forever!
So I want to send you off with a feeling of "See you later."
Diego: Higuchi-san.
Thank you for your hard work.
From the time I took the entrance test to now, you've always talked with me so kindly. Truly, thank you so much.
I have lots of memories and funny stories, but the one I treasure the most is this.
When I was new and couldn't read kanji, Higuchi read me manga on the train.
Gracias
