What’s your favorite place that you’ve been too? It can be a city, a country, or possibly your bed.
Hmm…well, I’ve been to a lot of places, but my favorite is probably at home, in my own room. Sounds a little antisocial, I know, but not place in the world is more comfortable than your own room.
Do you have any dear friends overseas?
Actually, yes! I have a friend who’s studying law in England. Very cool.
If you’re listening to music or have a song stuck in your head, give me the genre, band, title…and then describe it.
Ooooh, challenge accepted! The song stuck in my head right now is “Cryin’” by Aerosmith. How would I describe it? Well, I guess it has kind of a bittersweet tone to it, or at least the lyrics do, but also with a kind of edge to it. The tempo’s not very fast, kind of has a blues feel to it, and I freaking love the harmonica solo toward the end. Plus, there’s just something about Steven Tyler’s voice that I love.
Explain what it’s like to be able to taste food.
Damn you. Okay….I’m going to try and compare it to music. The different flavors are like different genres; some of them go well together, other’s don’t. Foods with more flavor, it’s like they have a higher volume. And after you eat, the taste can linger for a little while, like when you get a song stuck in your head.
I know that’s a really cheesy comparison, but fuck you, that’s the best I got.
Explain something that frustrates you.
Besides some of these questions? XD Hmm… I hate when people add an upward inflection at the end of every phrase, even when they’re not asking a question. It makes listening to a long story UNBEARABLE. I also take issue with people misusing the word “literally.” You are not literally on fire; if you were, you’d be dead.
Reason to me what role mosquitoes play in the ecosystem.
Fun fact: Only female mosquitoes feed on animal blood. The males feed on nectar from flowers, and actually help pollenate the plants, just like bees do. They’re also a vital food source for a lot of animals. So they do play a pretty important role in nature, even if they are extremely irritating.
Favorite extinct animal? Be specific~
Thylacine. I wasn’t so impressed with these guys until I actually saw a video of them before they went extinct. Its physical structure, the way it moves; you can’t really compare it to anything alive today, and there’s something beautiful about that.
Favorite phrase in a foreign language.
猿も木から落ちる。 (Saru mo ki kara ochiru). The literal translation from Japanese is “Even monkeys fall from trees.” It pretty much means “No one’s perfect” or “Everyone makes mistakes,” and I think it’s a good message. Just because you mess up at something doesn’t mean you have to feel crappy about it.
Describe the worst teacher you’ve ever had.
His name was Mr. Spengler, I had him for AP History, and he was TERRIBLE. He was the kind of teacher who never gave A’s on any of his assignments. The best grade I ever got in his class was a B, and I was one of his better students. He never gave any straight answers. Ever. Every “wrong” answer was either marked “Vague” or “Dubious”; how the fuck are you supposed to know what you messed up on from that!? In class, he actually LAUGHED at serious attempts to ask or answer questions. And if that’s not bad enough, he was a spitter. You couldn’t sit in the first row without risk of being sprayed. I swear to God, I couldn’t get out of that class fast enough.
Leather or canvas, and why?
Well, I don’t own a leather jacket, but I do own a canvas one, so I can’t really make an educated decision on that matter. I love my canvas stuff, but who’s to say I wouldn’t like leather more?
One wish, and it can’t be more wishes, dammit.
Remember that episode of Fairly Odd Parents when Timmy wished for a redo button for life? He just pressed it and he could go back in time and change things. That’s what I’d wish for. My life would be SO much easier if I could go back and fix things I screwed up on.
