This could be an interesting story.
Okay, so last night right before midnight... I had a very intoxicated drunk man in my parking lot yelling and screaming. Because it was so late, I went outside and told him that he needed to stop with the yelling because it was disturbing people. He got quiet and was all "yes ma'am, yes ma'am."
I went back to the lobby, (it's midnight by this time and the lobby closes at midnight) so I locked the doors behind me and went back to doing my closing paperwork. The drunk guy comes around to the front lobby door, pulls on the locked door and starts yelling at me from outside. At this point, I'm really happy I locked the doors and I'm super annoyed with this individual. I went over to the door, kept it locked and asked him what his problem was. He started ranting (very loudly) about how the cab that brought him here left him and that "shit wasn't right"... blah blah blah. I told him I couldn't do anything for him, but that he seriously needed to stop yelling and being obnoxious or I'd call the police. He got quiet for a moment and then started yelling again.
I asked him very calmly if he thought I was joking, because I absolutely wasn't. I seriously scolded this guy who was probably twice my age like he was a toddler that had done something wrong. The guy finally disappeared, but I thought I could hear him yelling from the back of the hotel. I wasn't about to go investigate. I have the non-emergency number for the local police department in my cell phone, so I called and told the dispatcher what was going on...and she said she'd send someone by to check things out.
A few minutes later, three squad cars arrive and I go through the process of telling the officers what happened. They searched for about twenty minutes for the guy and left. I'm assuming they didn't find him, and I didn't see/hear him again. I quickly gathered my things, locked the lobby doors behind me, dashed to my car and locked myself in side. And then I went home.
I've worked in hospitality for almost three years and I've never really had this particular experience before. It was a little terrifying.
