“Book of Shadows” was standing on the little notebook she had taken out of her backpack.
She opened it and went through it bit by bit. Astrology, Elements, Crystals, Tarot, Herbs, Spells, Witchcraft.
She took a marker and started writing “Dark Magic” and started documenting all the things she had already figured out and trained. It was late at night and she wasn’t really tired and half of the team was on a mission. The perfect evening for some self-care and journaling.
It was raining outside and the rain kept making little sounds against her window every time the winds changed. The compound was silent except for some white noise and a few footsteps here and there.
After writing everything off of her soul and also making a little journal entry, she flipped through her collection of notebooks that she had taken with her when the team rescued her.
She packed quickly so there was only some clothing, electronics, and her memory box that she took with her. It was full of little pictures, articles, notebooks, and hard drives. This was what she would save in a fire together with her phone and documents.
Griefing the tragic death of her mother became easier with these little things and she cried less than before. She accepted it, she couldn’t change it anymore and wanted to cherish what she still had left of it.
“You miss your old life.” A voice came from the entryway and out of panic she created a defense wall in milliseconds but it didn’t have an effect on the person standing there.
“Sorry for scaring you, Harmony.” Vision now said understanding he should’ve made himself more audible beforehand.
“It’s okay. I’m sorry, I just was so deep into reading that you just…” She tried to explain.
“And do you miss it? Your old life?” He asks genuinely interested.
“It’s not really the life that I miss. Just my mom.” Her voice was laced with sadness.
He sat down beside her trying to show her that he was there for her.
“Grief is profound. But it gets better, right? You feel more calm about it than a few weeks ago.” He analyzed the situation.
“Yes. It helps to remember the good moments with her or writing about my emotions. Why are you here tho?” She was okay with being open about it but she also was confused as to why he was here now.
“I never met someone with your personality. It’s fascinating. And I thought you wouldn’t mind some company because the people close to you are gone right now. Do you want me to leave?” He asked concerned.
“No. I just wanted to know your intentions. It’s...I don’t speak to a synthetic person with an infinity stone in their head every day,” she said a little shy.
“I don’t understand the interaction of emotions completely all the time but I think I’ve already learned a great deal of what it’s like to be like you. Always happy to talk. Wanda is very similar to you in some ways and I feel like I might be of help sooner or later if you need to talk.” He explained himself further.
“I appreciate that. Very empathetic of you to be honest but right now I don’t really have a lot of thoughts building up in my brain that I wanna share. Any other ideas what to do?” She answered honestly.
“I like cooking a lot. Should we...make a late-night snack?” His face lit up a bit.
“Sure. Pancakes? I just love pancakes a lot,” he answered instantly with a smile.
Having humorous conversations with Vision was the last thing she expected but because he knew so much about humanity and media it was actually great to see him get all her jokes and him explaining weird things humans do that don’t make sense to him.
“Let’s make some more and put them into the fridge for tomorrow morning. Cold pancakes are so good!” She suggested to him while sitting on the kitchen isle.
“Is that the equivalent to cold pizza as breakfast? Cause I find that very weird.” He smiled up at her on the counter while starting to put together a new bowl of pancake batter.
“It’s kinda similar now that you say it. It’s the sweet equivalent I guess.” She started to think about it out loud.
There was a door opening and a lot of quiet but hectic talking from the hallway all of a sudden which made both of them look up to see the teammates that were just coming back from the mission.
“So early?” She asked when she saw Steve.
“Was a base but also a dead end,” he answered before leaving into his room.
He also was the first one to come back into the room with wet hair and rubbing his hands
“What do we have here? Late-night pancakes? Can I have?” He asked with puppy eyes.
Vision and Harmony looked at each other for a second before she nodded with a smile and a little motion through his hair.
The next person coming in was James, totally done but also happy to see her. Instead of aiming for the food he aimed for a hug from his girlfriend still sitting on the kitchen isle.
“Why so sad big boy?” she asked him with her arms around his head.
“If I have to hear Sam for one more second I’m gonna lose it!” He grumbled into her shoulder and felt her giggle.
There was an “Uh la la.” Coming from behind clearly directed at them and she felt James tense up.
“Sam, fuck off. No pancakes for you!” He heard from Harmony in a confident voice.
“But it’s pancakes! Everyone else gets to eat!” Sam whined.
“Maybe go on his nerves a little less,” she said chuckling.
“Can I have one pretty please?” He asked nicely.
“What do I get for it?” She started to negotiate and James started smiling into her shoulder.
“I’ll make you breakfast tomorrow,” he said after thinking about it for a few seconds.
“Deal,” she said and he echoed it back.
After James could hear him sit down he looked up from her chest with a boyish smile.
“Showing your true colors, huh?” His smile emitted proudness.
“Damn, don’t call me out like that,” she said fake shocked.
“Damn, get a room you two!” they heard a voice coming from the door. Tony.
“Excuse me?” She said ready for a fake bitch fight.
“Don’t come at her. She is ready to win today,” Sam said with his mouth full from the dinner table.
“A warning from Wilson? Wow. I’m impressed,” Tony answered fake impressed but sat down on the table with a little smirk.
James let go and finally grabbed a plate too and got the pancake right out of the pan from Vision.
“Thank you V!” He smiled and hopped onto the kitchen isle beside Harmony.
Everyone went silent and just sat there eating with their phones and some of them wrote in between.
“Is this a weird group chat situation or are you all just on social media?” She chuckled.
“You sure you wanna know?” Tony answered.
“I can magic it out of you if I want to,” she said with an unfazed smile.
“It’s a group chat,” he answered shortly after.
Harmony touched James’ leg to give him a little impulse, a message? He was confused for a second but then got it. *They’re probably talking about us.*
He shrugged at her before looking back down on his plate with a very subtle smile.
Another subtle touch on his knee *What about tomorrow morning? Unless their plan is to leave us alone every time they are finished eating. I’m down to show them how foolish they are.*
She saw him nod so slight that it was almost not detectable. He was incredibly good at hiding the fucking implosion the thought of kissing her in front of them gave him.
Shortly after he finished his pancakes, put the plate in the sink and went to his room without a word. She could read him well enough to know that this was part of the plan of irritating the others.
After a lot of silence and her looking at her phone every now and then someone broke the silence.
“What is it about him?” Tony asked.
“I think you can relate pretty well to how it is when someone shares or understands your pain, past, grief, characteristics coming from those past traumatic events. That’s it. He gets it, he doesn’t judge and he makes me feel protected.” she said not facing them. She was still too broken to talk about herself in-depth in front of multiple people.
“I think everyone in this room understands.” Vision started trying to comfort her, “Steve and Bucky share their out of time life, Sam shares the experience in of military and Tony the experience of losing your parents and putting too much onto yourself.”
He really was very empathetic when it came to the important moments. She totally understood why Wanda had found her peace with him.
His words hit the others with truth and pain. She smiled at him with gratitude.
“He makes you feel happiness again, right? Like I do that for Wanda or Pepper does that for Tony. Even Wanda for you.” he asked.
“You mean a safe place?” He nodded, “Yes. He’s my safe place.” Her voice was sounding breakable like glass.
The room was silenced by that. She didn’t speak to half of them until today and hearing her be so honest made them realize some things about themselves.
With a touch on V’s shoulder, she jumped from the kitchen isle and left the room with a small “Goodnight.”
The silence of the building was almost unsettling now that everyone was back. Normally she could hear them talk in the kitchen late at night or at least heard some footsteps. Today that wasn’t the case. Vision seemed to have made them think about some things.

She had been practicing her magic skills for the last hour before somebody came into the training room.
“They did something to your DNA or the DNA of your ancestors. Didn’t they?” Wanda's voice echoed through the room.
The green energy ball she had been forming in her hands disintegrated. “I don’t know. I wish I knew. I’ve always been interested in witchcraft and felt different every time I did it. That’s how I found out I have powers but I don’t know where they came from, how they found out or why they killed my mother to get me. It’s all so confusing to me.” she said with her chest getting heavier.
“I want to help you find out more. I want to keep you company learning magic. So much about it isn’t controllable and just intuition. You shouldn’t go through this alone. I’m sorry I’m just talking to you now but it was...weird for me to have someone else here with magical powers.” Wanda said with a soft and regretful voice.
“It’s okay. I’m already getting better, but I was about to take a break. Later maybe? I still need to...talk to someone.” Harmony tried putting it into words. She was uncomfortable and exhausted and she really needed to get something done.
“Of course, you’ve been in here for a long time. Just tell me whenever you’re ready.” Wanda smiled at her very understanding of her conflicted feelings.
Harmony went to her little room she had in the compound and grabbed the bag she had totally forgotten about overnight. She grabbed Steve’s art supplies out of it and went down the hallway to his room. He was still gone and she didn’t want to make a bad impression for forgetting about it.
She quietly opened the door, stepped inside and saw his room for the first time. There were shelves with a lot of 40s things, pictures on the wall and boxes filled to the brim with his old stuff and his closet was color coded but chaotic.
Just as she stepped forward to put down the art supplies the door behind her opened and both stopped in their tracks.
“Sorry, I was just bringing your stuff back because-” She was interrupted.
“No, it’s totally okay. Just wasn’t expecting you standing there.” He smiled, came at her and gave her a small hug.
“That looks like it hurts.” She said with a grimace and pointed at a cut in his cheek.
“I’m used to it.” He shrugged his shoulders and smiled. “While you’re here...could you?”
He pointed at his back that had a zipper going a little bit to the left side that made it easier for him to get out of the suit.
“Uuuh, sure.” She said, a bit confused before opening the side of the suit.
“Just realized how weird it was to ask you for this...hope you really didn’t mind...but I’m kinda in pain and that helped a lot.” He said after realizing the situation. Reacting like the dumb dork he was sometimes.
“What hurts?” She asked alert.
“Bruised arm.” He said holding his right arm up.
She took his shield out of his hand and looked at him with a little frown on her face. “Show me your arm.”
“It’s not bad. My cells rebuild faster than yours.” He said smiling a little at how concerned she was.
“Show me your arm, Rogers.” She said a little bit more demanding and he wiggled himself out of the top part of his suit to satisfy her demands.
She walked past his right grabbing a shirt from the half open closet and putting it into his other hand while inspecting and holding up his arm.
It was blue, yellow and red. Almost resembling a watercolor painting of kinds.
“How are you not screaming in pain from me just holding your arm?” She was in front of him again and lifted a brow.
“I’m trying not to, don’t wanna scare you away.” He chuckled.
“Put on a shirt you dork.” She said rolling her eyes with a smile and he did as he was told.
She was still looking at his arm with concern after he put on the shirt and he pulled her into a hug to hide her concerned face on his chest.
“Thanks for telling me to stay safe.” He said into her hair with closed eyes.
“You have no means of self preservation. You need to hear that frequently and apparently nobody is telling you what a dumbass you are so I’m taking the position.” She said into his chest and giggled.
She smiled up at him. “I request from you not to die and I think I should leave you alone now ‘cause I’m not your personal wardrobe assistant.” He let her go and got his hair ruffled by her before she left the room.
She left the room and James, who was walking down the hallway with his coffee, stopped and looked at her in confusion.
“Brought him his art supplies. How was the mission?” She asked him. Sam, James, Steve, Nat and Tony were on the mission and she hadn’t seen them since the morning the day before.
“Was interesting. Steve getting his own shield thrown at his arm sounds funnier than it looked.” She shuddered.
“What?” He asked, lifting a brow and taking a sip.
“I saw his arm. Could be a freaking watercolor painting if you ask me.” She said, clearly feeling uncomfortable about his state.
“You’ll not even see it by tomorrow morning.” He smiled cupping her face with his free hand.
She almost fell into him to finally hug him. That was the only thing she needed right now after her exhausting training session.
“You okay?” He asked, a little bit concerned.
“I trained for over an hour today. I need to recharge. UGH.” She almost yelled into his shoulder with him acknowledging it with a little huff, a smile and another sip from his coffee.
Without a warning he got down a little bit and put his arm around her thighs to pick her up.
“Fall asleep if you want to. I planned on reading a book anyway.” He said without minding her grabbing onto him like a koala.
“You’re the best, do you know that?” She mumbled on his shoulder.
“I’m the only reason why you fall asleep in seconds. Yes, I think I know.” He smiled before taking a last sip, putting the mug onto the table in the common area and going to the part of the room that had a little couch and a few books laying around.
After he sat down and she readjusted herself to be more comfortable. It really only took seconds for her to fall asleep.
Nat walked in with wet hair and a smile at both of them but she stayed silent and grabbed a snack from the fridge before sitting down with it at the coffee table in the corner of the room.
After that Sam came in wiggling his eyebrows “Bucky getting all the ladies, huh?” Which was met with the ultimate death glare and a throat cutting gesture from Bucky, which ended up looking hilarious with Harmony’s face smushed on his shoulder. Finally Steve came in and at the sight of his best friend giving her comfort, his heart made an extra jump so he decided to sit down next to them and play with his phone.
James didn’t change his position for hours and the others kept moving, leaving the room and went to their rooms as it got darker.
Her eyes slowly opened to see his metal hand laying on a closed book in the dark and she instinctively put her hand on his which made him stop his calm breathing pattern.
She went over the little patterns in his fingers one by one and he just kept watching her hand while trying to not change his breathing again.
Her head went up to where he could see her expression. There was a mix of comfort, fascination and empathy in her sparkling eyes.
“I think...this is what makes you human.” She whispers softly not taking her eyes off of his metal hand.
“A metal arm makes me human?” He asked with a smile at her.
“It shows that you’re vulnerable. That you have a story to tell.” She whispered and met his eyes with hers.
There was a silence between them that he couldn’t describe. Something about what she just said made his heart go a little faster. There was a confusion if she felt that too.
“Do you hate that part of you?” She broke the silence suddenly putting her guards up again but still staying vulnerable enough for him to notice.
“It reminds me of everything bad that happened to me...I hate touching people with it.” He answered honestly.
“Your past is what makes you the person you are, right? Even if it was a bad one.” She asked and got a slight nod.
“I like the person you are now. That’s a part of it too.” She continued and went over his arm with her fingers.
He couldn’t decide if it made him uncomfortable because he thought of it as possibly dangerous or if it made him relax because she touched it without any harm expected.
She dragged it onto the leg she had still around his front and made little circles on his forearm with both of her hands.
Now his mind decided on finding it relaxing and his whole body just visibly got less intimidating.
“I’m not scared of you. I never will be. I trust you, James.” She said with her hand and his hand open against each other showing him how small her hands were. There was a feeling in his chest that he hadn’t felt in 80 years suddenly blooming freely. He couldn’t speak, his heart was beating faster than ever and his vision was focused on her beautiful concentrated face.
She became nervous not hearing a response and looked back at his face. His eyes were glued to her and his mouth stood open in awe.
“Did I do something wrong? I-” She started but got a quick and intense head shake back.
How was he going to tell her this? Was he going to tell her this? Should he even do it?
“Do you trust me too?” She asked shyly.
“Of course.” He blurted out like a shy little boy.
“Is everything alright?” She looked at him concerned.
“Yes. I just...had a little thought spiral.” He tried to put it into words.
She smiled at him “About what?”
“Uuuh. I don’t know if I should talk about this with you now. It’s...it can wait.” He said anxiously.
“You’re nervous. I’ve never seen you nervous. Is it that bad?” She asked staring him down.
“It’s nothing bad. Just very...conflicting, I guess.” He really tried his hardest not to tell her how he felt right now and how weird it was. She was only here for a few weeks and really started talking deeply in the last few days. He didn’t want to overwhelm her but the connection they had was special from the beginning.
“I never keep secrets from you. I told you everything about me. It concerns me that something makes you nervous.” She was really worried.
“Did I trigger your PTSD because I touched your arm? Please, tell me!” Now she was getting upset.
“Harmony. I said it wasn’t a bad thing. Just something you made me think about. Relax, I’m fine.” He said more serious and calm before pulling her waist closer for a hug.
“I really don’t want you to feel bad. If I ever do please stop me, okay?” She said still upset.
“You didn’t make me feel bad. You made me feel good actually.” He said running his hand through her hair.
“Are you concerned and nervous about feeling okay? ‘Cause I know that from when I had depression. It’s-” She broke the hug apart.
“Listen! I need you to calm down right now. I feel fine and not worried. There is nothing to be upset about and I just need a little bit of time to process what you said to me about me. Okay?” He interrupted her and it broke his heart a little to do that.
“Did...Did nobody ever tell you that?” She whispered looking him straight into his soul. At least that’s how it felt like to him.
“Not...really?” He answered slowly.
“Can I uuuh, try to give you more thoughts of mine like this?” She held up her left hand with a little bit of blue lighting up in it.
“I don’t know. I- It- Yes, I think that’s actually not a bad idea.” He said after processing it. She was the only person he ever trusted doing something so close to the torture he went through. His mind was guarded at all times but something about her just made him say yes every single time.
She went into his brain again and it felt like he was bombarded with validation and positivity. As if she uploaded reminders into his brain but he didn’t know what she might see again.
When her hand left his head again she smiled at him awkwardly and stood up. “Um, I think I should go to my room now.”
“Wha- Why?” He asked confused.
“You said you had to process what I said a bit.” She acted weird and it concerned him.
“Harmony. Did you see something bad again?” He asked frowning.
“No. Don’t worry. I’m gonna go and paint a bit...if you need me I’m probably up ‘till 4.” She said with a soft smile and left the room shortly after.

Most days she was just sitting in the library with a computer trying to learn new things about dark magic. She knew she was able to use it but she knew nothing about it. There weren’t a lot of non-fictional books on it so she really needed to search deeper online.
With a blanket around her at all times, a book open on a page with nice visuals of red energy orbs and her laptop on her crossed legs she read for hours every day. The magic part of the library was completely hers. Sometimes Wanda came to look something up or an agent went through the library to find something that might interest them but other than that she was in complete silence.
“Getting smarter, little witch?” The dark voice scared the living hell out of her. And after a soft giggle and her adjusting herself again she answered “Theoretically? Yes. Practically? No...Why are you here?
A soft smile came to his face “The others were just worried about you only being here and you only talk to me. And I’m also kinda interested in what you are doing here all day long.” he stepped towards her and his eyes fell on the open page of the book on the side table in front of her.
“A lot of research about what my powers are and what they can do. It’s hard to find serious writings about it.” she said in a soft voice that clearly wasn’t very used to talking anymore.
“Does it bring you some kind of...calmness?” he asked sitting down in the other chair beside her.
“About my powers definitely. I don’t know about the rest.” she answered honestly. She just couldn’t lie to him. Even if she tried to, he would probably notice.
“I might be bad at giving advice but if you wanna talk about it one day, don’t be scared to come to me. Okay?” he was equally honest with her. It felt weird for him to be that open, it’s not like he planned to.
“I don’t think I’m ready for that right now. And I don’t know how my emotions might reflect onto my powers. I don’t wanna hurt you.”
“If you want to try them first you can use the training room. It’s made for powers like yours and Wanda’s.” His smile was gone but there was a very genuine and positive energy in his eyes that made her nod.
“You look like you need a hug.” he said after looking at her in silence for a while and she gave a weak smile back.
He pulled her over to the other chair, sat her down on his lap and gave her a big protecting hug. Her tense muscles visibly relaxed in this grip and she felt safe enough to close her eyes. She didn’t sleep more than a few hours per night since the incident which made her melt into his arms and fall asleep almost instantly.
*Can someone please come to the library? I need help with our little witch,* he wrote into the group chat after somehow reaching his phone in his pants.
Eventually, Steve came down the hallway silently and when his eyes met them sitting there all cuddled together he was a bit surprised “Since when are you two friends?”
“I’m the only person here that she trusts at the moment. You know that.” he answered almost coldly, didn’t even know why he got so defensive.
“What did you need help with?” the blond tried to get back on topic.
“Can you put that blanket over her and her laptop into her room? I think she didn’t really sleep much since she got here.” he said looking down at her sleeping face that frowned.
“Sure. Are you staying with her? Should I tell the team you’re out of order today?” he said caring as he is and got a nod back.
She jolted up with a deep inhale and arms instantly pulled her into a hug. “Everything is okay. You’re safe. Sssh.”
His deep, soft voice made her relax again but couldn’t keep the tears she was holding back inside.
“I can’t stop seeing her getting killed every time I sleep,” she mumbled and started shaking.
“I know how this feels like but I swear from the bottom of my heart that it gets easier,” he said looking her straight into her eyes and taking her hands.
“I can’t shake the feeling that I could’ve helped her if I had just trusted my powers.” her whole face was red by now.
“Please stop putting yourself down. You can’t turn back time. Blaming yourself won’t help. With your power the chances that they wouldn’t have tried to kidnap you over and over again would have been low. I know this hurts but you need to hear it even if it breaks my heart seeing you so broken. You can do this? Okay?” He had her face in his hands by now and she grabbed him to hug him close and didn’t stop crying into his shoulder until she fell asleep again in his tight hug.
She needed to be held by a person that understood and could keep her safe and there weren’t a lot of people like that beside him.
But it also helped him to sleep better and longer with her being there. Something about her just synced up with him. Since she’s been in the compound in the last weeks, he just has more energy.
“I-I don't want to try my powers alone.” she said right after waking up and relaxing a bit the next morning.
“Hey, it’s okay. We can go to the training room together. Okay?” laying his hand down on her upper arm.
“Then I think...I think I should try now before I change my mind.” her voice was a bit shaky.
He stood up and went around the bed to help her up and took her hand before walking towards the room in the compound that was power-proof with her.
On the way there they walked by the common room door and Nat was close to say something but James gave her and all the others a death glare. Now that she felt a little bit of light he didn’t want anyone to dim it by breaking the mood.
He opened the big door, let her in and gave her a supporting smile.
“I don’t know what I should do now.” she said in a weak tone.
“Well. Let’s start with the things you learned about the most.” he suggested back.
She told him to get closer to her in the middle of the room “Can I...can I try to help your trauma? I learned about healing and self-healing is out of my league but you...you deserve to feel better.”
He was a little bit reluctant before giving her a nod. He trusted her. There was blue magic forming in her hands before she touched his forehead with two fingers and his eyes went black.
He could see her going through his memories, even the ones he doesn’t remember. She couldn’t delete thoughts but she could make them less prominent. It felt as if she put down the volume of the memories of a murderer and turned up the memories with the people he loved. He could see his sisters playing in their room, dancing with friends, doing dumb things with Steve, drinking with the HC boys, experiencing the 21st century for the first time, a girl telling him he made her feel better about being an outcast, recognizing Steve again, visiting the grandkids of his old friends, talking shit in Russian with Nat, pranking Stark, life in Wakanda, hugging the person that was currently looking through his brain like it was a flashdrive.
“This is...beautiful.” he mumbled in positive shock before she put her hand off of his head and his eyes went back to normal.
She was in shock but he noticed fast that it wasn’t because of her powers working.
“You’ve seen so much horror.” her eyes began to fill with tears and he pulled her into a hug quickly.
“I didn’t want you to see them. I don’t want you to destroy yourself to help others. I’m so sorry.” he mumbled against her hair.
“I’m so sorry they did that to you.” she said between sobs.
“Hey, let’s just do something that doesn’t involve other people’s brains and have you feel a bit better.” he would need to try and keep her mind off of it until she could heal herself.
She sat down on the floor, closed her eyes and her hands made movements he didn’t understand but slowly there was a ball of blue energy forming again that was plopping open like a bubble to show a flower.
“I can materialize things from thought but it’s still hard to do.” she said a bit exhausted and with a weak smile.
“Do you wanna continue or do you need rest?” he asked concerned, crouching down in front of her.
“I think I’d like to eat something before practicing again.” she answered pretty fast.
His face lit up “Well, let’s steal some pancakes then, little witch.”
“You can sit here on the table or over there. I’ll get you the food, okay?” he said coming into the common area again with the others staring at them.
She went for the place he pointed out that was in the corner of the room and had a little coffee table arrangement.
Wanda was the first to clear her throat and continue talking, she knew how weird it felt to her to be stared at as the new one with magic powers.
Shortly after, James sat down in front of her with all the breakfast he could get.
“Is there any names you want to be called. Little witch is quite a long name to always use.”
“Harmonia or Harmony.” she said shyly knowing the others were there.
“Where does that name originate?” he asked while starting to eat his pancake.
“Harmonia is the name of the daughter of Aphrodite. Mythology.” she smiled.
“I think it’s a fitting name.” he smiled back.
She started putting things onto her pancakes while she listened to the others across the room.
“Why are you so shy to the others?” he asked a bit more toned down.
“I need people 1 on 1 to feel them out and see if I can trust them.” she said shoving a big piece of pancake into her mouth.
“I’d suggest you start with Steve. He’s me in dumber and less deadly.” he gave a dumb smile and got a giggle back. When he looked over to the blonde he got a smile back. He is the only one able to hear them talk at this volume.
“He’s nice, very understanding, but I can sense the insecurities he has when he talks sometimes.” she said very softly.
James looked over to Steve who now pretended to listen to Clint.
“What did you think about me?” he was interested now.
“I was a bit intimidated. You have a cold layer around you but your eyes are soft. Even with the empty looks you gave me. I don’t know. You just seemed like the only one here that could truly understand how I felt.” she went silent, feeling like she said too much.
“I know what you mean. This...invisible connection. Can’t pinpoint it exactly, you just feel like you get it.” he was already finished eating because he was listening way more than talking.
“I know exactly what you mean. It’s super weird. Uuuh, is the magic still working? I don’t know how permanent it is.” she changed the topic.
“It’s still working. Thanks for helping me remember more of the good things. All the memories of Steve being a dumbass were missed dearly.” he chuckled.
“Well, now the outside fits the mindset. If his name wasn’t Captain America I’d probably call him big energy ball.” both started laughing.
The rest of the room went silent because it was such a profound occurance to see James laugh and even more with someone they all still didn’t really talk to.
“She just made a joke about me.” Steve smiled at his friend being happy.
“Was it really that good?” Nat asked smiling at the situation.
“She isn’t wrong. Let’s just say that.” he said with a one sided smile.

“Are you ready to go to Asgard, Harmony?” Thor's voice broke the silence. Only James was standing there with her. It was early, the others didn’t need to know and this was something she needed to find out for herself.
With a nod she walked up to him, had an arm slung around her waist and the Bifrost opening above them.
With a smile at James they went through a colorful tunnel that was fascinating her more than her own magic. A scientist would love this but she didn’t have much time to think about it since all of a sudden she was surrounded by warm light.
In front of her was the rainbow bridge and the entirety of Asgard.
“Welcome back, Odinson.” Came from a deep voice.
“Heimdall. This is my Midgardian friend Harmonia,” he answered.
“Thor,” she said a little bit distressed and both turned to her.
There was some kind of aura building up around her that turned more gold the longer it was there.
“She is not Midgardian. She is a demigod like you, Odinson.” Heimdall looked at him.
“Great. I would LOVE to know what that means for me,” she said interrupting their little moment.
“You’ll collect energy in sacred places. Like Asgard.” The man explained to her.
“And what does that do to me on Earth?” She asked turning fully to them.
“Well, you’re a demigod everywhere. Who are your ancestors?” He asked back.
“She only knows that her name is Harmonia Gaia Aphrodite,” Thor answered for her while she was staring at the golden aura around her.
“You’re reincarnated Gaia and Aphrodite in Midgard form?” He suggested.
“I mean, I guess. Dark magic people are after me on earth. So I’ll assume there is something to it,” she said trying to create magic in her hands.
“Don’t underestimate your powers, Harmonia.” Came from beside her but the blue was already as big as a flame before she hectically undid her magic.
“Let me show you Asgard,” Thor said beside her with a smile before they finally went on with it.
“...and that’s where we have outdoor celebrations.” He pointed to an area before someone appeared in front of them.
“And that’s my brother Loki,” he said smiling.
She gave him a little wave, “Nice to meet you, Loki.”
“Who is your...midgardian...demigod friend?” His soft voice asked.
“Harmonia.” She smiled at him.
He took her hand and bowed. Unlike James the day before he meant it seriously.
“You are way above the likes of me and my brother. It is certainly nice to have you here in Asgard.” His whole expression was soft, the complete opposite of the Loki everyone saw in New York a few years before.
“Can I invite you somewhere? We have great food here.” He smiled with his soft expression. Thor witnessing this smiling since he really believed in the goodness of his brother.
“Do you...have a library where I can learn more about everything that has been happening to me?” It was weird for her to talk this politely all of a sudden but she kinda liked it.
“Of course, let me bring you there.” He gestured her into the direction.
Thor just let it happen, it felt right and she also probably could kick him through the entirety of Asgard if she wanted to in the worst case.
“I like the yellow in your cape.” She smiled at him and Thor could visibly see his shoulders relax before they were out of sight.
“It’s to honor my mother.” His smile was genuine.
“I read many great things about her. Did you learn the clone thing from her?” She was curious.
He nodded “All types of illusions.” A tiny bit of sadness shined through.
She put a hand on his shoulder, “I know how it feels to lose someone so important. I constantly search small ways to honor my mother too. She died a few months ago, trying to protect me.” There was grief reflecting in her eyes.
“My deepest condolences. Maybe it helps to think about her still being there in spirit. Asgardians believe in these things too.” They stopped in front of a big door with gold details.
The guards opened it and behind was a gigantic library.
“Feel free to read anything you’d like. What topics are you preferring?” He asked.
“Books on Gaia & Aphrodite. A little bit about magic and dark magic.” His head lifted up a bit when he heard her say dark magic.
“Why dark magic?” He asked curiously.
“Dark magic people were after me on Earth, killed my mom. Avengers came and saved me. They came to us, that one person explained that I’m part of their prophecy and that I shouldn’t be on Earth. And because I can do magic myself. Just that I don’t use it to harm.” She gave him the short version.
“If you ever need me to…” he made some fighting gestures, “...just let me know.”
“Only if you promise not to send a whole space army down to Earth again.” She stared him right into his soul.
He nodded, “I wasn’t myself doing this. It was the mind stone controlling me...and a little bit of me.” He tried to explain.
"I understand. You have a way, uuh, softer personality compared to New York." She smiled at him softly not wanting to insult him by calling him soft but he didn't seem to be bothered.
He showed her the shelves stacked with hundreds of books about magic and searched for some books about the two goddesses she seemingly channeled.
"You know...I learned about you in my studies about witchcraft before I even knew about my powers. It's really fascinating. Your whole story and all the magic stuff you can do." she could tell that he needed to hear that since it was clear that he didn't always have the best life.
"I can tell you some more stories whenever you'd like." He smiled bright, finally.
"Can I ask a...personal question?" The words came very reluctantly.
"Sure." He was really not a bit bad right now. It felt strange but refreshing.
"You're a frost giant, right? Can you do frost giant things or did you never learn that?" She was curious and although his eyes became kinda distant for a moment he still tried to answer.
"A few things but...not much." He almost got shy for a second.
"I like that your life is so layered and that you have so much history...and I'm sorry if I'm getting annoying." She stopped herself.
"No, it's pleasant to hear. I don't hear praise from Midgardians often," He answered while she opened the first book.
"I truly believe people can get better. It's nice to see that you're going into a good direction, Loki." She smiled while reading.
"Mind if I sit with you?" He gestured to the chair next to her.
"Not at all." She looked up for a second.
The next minutes were spent in a pleasant silence that was only interrupted by turning pages.
"Is my brother talking about me on Midgard?" His serious question breaks through the silence.
"Sometimes. I'm not around him too much with all the other people around. He tells stories of you tricking him quite a lot. It's very sweet." A small smile formed on his face for a moment.
"I'd love to visit Midgard again one day." He was a bit lost in thoughts for a while.
The nice moment was interrupted by Thor storming in, "Harmony, we need to go. The compound."
She instantly stood up from the chair, looking back at Loki, telling him, "I hope you tell me some stories next time." Before hectically walking with Thor.
They came back right to where they were departing before to see fire and a bunch of dark magicians keeping the Avengers together with their powers. The only person able to defend them being Wanda.
Harmony's shock turned into deep anger.
"You won't take my second family away from me," she screamed and got their attention.
"You were in Asgard. All we need now is to harvest your energy." The man in the middle answered while she positioned herself in front of the Avengers.
"You won't do anything with anyone. Not on my watch." The anger and passion laced in her voice was accompanied by her eyes turning glowing red. Her body elevated from the floor while she broke the shield around the others with a purple protection spell way stronger than their shared magic.
"You won't get anything from me!" She grumbled holding out her hand and having Mjölnir flying perfectly into it seconds later before holding it up with the shock on the faces in front and behind her and crashing down lighting on everything daring to touch her family.
Thor had made his way around them by now and attacked them from behind. The god of thunder didn't need to have a weapon to be a weapon. Both worthy Avengers made short process with most of the magicians and Wanda was the first one to get back into fighting mode and finished the stronger leader with the Harmony & Thor in a big implosion before there was a dead silence filled with hectic breathing and sounds of fire crackling.
"What was that?" Harmony mumbled. Everything happened way too fast.
"They just showed up, burned everything down. All I could do was protect them. No way fighting that many alone." Wanda said out of it and exhausted.
She grabbed her into a tight hug, "Thank you."
Both turned around to the others still shocked at what had happened.
"Are you all okay? I'm so sorry." She ran towards them and looked at each of them.
"I think we need to change nicknames." Steve tried to lighten the mood when she stopped in front of him. She smiled and her hand went over his arm, looking at his wrist that was slightly burned.
"James!" She almost threw herself into his arms.
"I'm okay. I'm so proud of you. Everything's okay. It's just this part of the compound." He was so programmed on calming her spiraling mind.
"You need to get some stitches in your side." She cupped his face with a hurt smile while Wanda tried to contain the fire with her powers.
"So...is nobody going to talk about her being worthy, or?" Tony broke the depressed mood.
"And a demigod," she whispered. Only James could hear it and smiled even more caring.
"Friday? Can you make the C349 build into a pipe that can put water onto that burning pile?" Tony's voice asked and some metal scraps flew through the air pumping water from the lake onto the compound.
"Are we ordering Pizza?" Clint asked deadpanning.
"Only if they also deliver ice cream," Nat answered totally done with her friend but smiling.

There was nothing she could do about the parts of the compound that were a pile of ash now but she had the ability to cope through art.
The watercolor was scattered all over her desk and her brush was finding its way all over the open sketchbook page. She was painting Asgard.
Right next to it she scribbled little notes about everything she was able to learn in her short time in the library. It was mostly about magic and her ability to learn things way faster than others.
She was wondering if the people being after her would stop. They always lost. Dark Magic against a goddess of earth and love really wasn’t an even match.
They all still didn’t know the name of the collective. She didn’t know if she wanted to know it.
The door opened and James’ face was peaking around the corner a while later.
“What are you drawing, goddess.” He had a boyish smile on his face.
“Asgard.” She smiled and he slipped right beside her to look at her painting.
“Did you have a good time there?” He put his hand on her back.
“It’s beautiful. I talked with Loki for a while. He’s much less evil than 2012. Had the chance to read some stuff in their library.” She smiled up at him.
“Bookworm.” He chuckled before leaning down to give her a kiss.
“The sun’s out. Can we...can we have a little picnic date?” She mumbled with his face still in front of her.
“Anything you want, honey.” A content expression mirrored on both faces.
“Wait, if we ever would have kids...would they be demigods?” He asked after finishing his first sandwich sitting by the lake with her on a big black blanket they stole from the common area for their picnic.
“I never thought of that.” She giggled, “but I think they would be.”
“How did I manage to fall in love with a goddess?” He mumbled staring at the water.
“It’s not like it is hard.” She grabbed the next sandwich.
“Let me put it differently. How did I manage to make a goddess fall in love with me?” He smirked over at her.
“By being yourself. Honest. Empathetic. Vulnerable. Trusting.” She answered before putting the sandwich up to her face where she was interrupted by him with a kiss.
There was a short, loving gaze before he found his voice again, “I love you. You know that?”
The smile forming on her face almost made his heart jump out of his chest, “I love you too.”
He had his hands left and right from her and their foreheads were leaned against each other with their eyes closed.
They were interrupted by the sound of the plates on his arm adjusting and she could sense his eyes rolling, “Thanks for ruining the moment, arm.” he mumbled.
“I don’t see the problem?” Her breath was tickling his lips.
“I do,” he grumbled.
“You know I accept you the way you are. Let’s not start with the good things about it.” She opened her eyes and was greeted with ocean blue eyes that didn’t know what to think.
“First of all. I like big hands for some reason. Then there would be that you can pick me up way easier with it and keep me safe with it. I also love the pattern of it a lot. Sometimes I just stare at your fingers and think about painting each part a different color. Let’s not think about all the inappropriate upsides.” She smirked, he could see it in her eyes that he couldn’t look away from. There was an uncomfortable chuckle from his side.
“And I also sleep better when I have your arms around my chest.” Her hands wandered down his arms.
“And I like the days when you forget about it and just have your arm around my waist when we walk somewhere.” Her eyes were sparkling at this point.
“It’s a part of you...and I fell in love with the whole guy. Not the guy minus the metal arm.” Now he laughed a little and gave another little kiss.
“I guess I signed up for the magic too,” he mumbled against her lips with a huff.
“I love you.” She looked into his sapphire eyes and saw his skin crinkle.
“I love you too,” he answered, nuzzling her nose with a big smile.

She was drawing in her book in the silence of the early morning hours when only Steve and Sam were up because of their military habits.
The brush was just dipped into the blue to fill out the eyes of James standing in the elevator with her hands cupping his face when somebody knocked on her door.
“Who?” She just asked concentrated on the brush in front of her. James would just come in and Steve wasn’t really someone to interrupt others, especially her.
“Wanda. Can I come in?” A female voice answered.
“Sure,” she said while covering her current painting with a loose paper and looking towards the little mini hallway leading to her door.
The redhead showed herself shortly after with a little smile on her face to show that she wasn’t there to annoy her.
“Do you wanna train with me maybe? Or relax together? Whatever you want,” she said with a soft voice.
After looking at her covered notebook for a second an back at her, Harmony answered “Sure. Let’s do a little bit of both.”
A short smile was interchanged before she stood up and both of them left for the training room.
“What things can you do?” Wanda asked curious after both of them got ready in the room.
“Self defense, psychological changes, a little bit of materializing, I think that’s all,” she said scratching her neck.
“Did you ever train offense?” She asked further.
“With what? I don’t wanna hurt living beings and I don’t have a lot of ideas what else to use,” she said a little bit confused by the question.
“I’m also not training it enough and I think nobody can truly control that kind of power but I train a lot with rocks or big fruits like melons...maybe that could help you too?” She suggested to Harmony.
“Do you think I could control it well enough?” Her shy and insecure voice came back.
“Of course. And even if there is something going wrong I’m there and able to stop it. This is why I wanted to train with you. We can control each other.” Wanda said smiling and took Harmony’s hands.
“Uuuh, well I guess we are destroying some stones?” She asked with an unsure smile back and got dragged out a few dozen yards away from the compound into an area that was very upkept and had a rock circle. It was on the backside of the building and that’s why she never noticed it.
“They get replaced frequently if I destroy them. Go ahead. Try it out. I’m here to stop you whenever it’s needed.” Wanda encouraged her.
Harmony placed herself in the middle of the rock circle and moved her hands like she learned from the books and articles she researched all the weeks she sat in the library.
Red energy lit up between her hands and while Wanda built a protection shield around the small field to make her feel more save.
Her eyes became ultra-focused and she aimed at the stone in front of her and moved all her energy against it. With a red energy ball the 3ft x 7ft x 3ft stone just pulverized. There was a moment of complete silence and a impressed face towards her hands before she started trying out more. Pulverizing three in a row, making one fly, making another fly and throw it, make a domino effect with three others and kicking one away with her red magic. The later breaking the safety shield Wanda had created and slamming into a storage room door of the compound.
The power flew out of her instantly with a wide eyed “Fuck!” coming out of her mouth.
Wanda’s and Harmony’s eyes met and there was a little giggle starting between them which was only stopped by Tony in his suit landing in front of them.
“Ladies? Can you explain?” He asked after the mask opened.
“Overestimated my power. Looks like you need more areas for us where we can’t destroy your property.” Harmony answered still chuckling at what just happened which threw Tony off.
“I guess you’re right,” he said with a resigning face. A billionaire couldn’t be mad at a door being destroyed.
“And ordering more melons and human-like things would be nice. If you ever want her to help in missions.” Wanda started talking.
“I’ll make sure to install a protection shield over the whole building, create a wall here and buy the ladies some more melons to smash against it. Anything else?” He asked a little more suave now.
“No, that’s it.” They smiled at him like two children and he flew back to the main building again after an eye roll.
“We should maybe move on to the relax part now.” Harmony still said chuckling and looking over at the destroyed door.
They sat down on the biggest rock that was still standing and started talking about magic.
“Why can you do magic? Where does it come from?” Wanda asked after explaining the experiments that were tried on her.
“I don’t know. I think I got it from the family of my father and my mother knew and never told me to protect me from possible enemies. But me not knowing is the reason why I couldn’t defend us when they came. I knew there was something different about me when I learned spells for witchcraft that I got into...but I didn’t know how deep this went until it was too late and you came and rescued me out of there,” she answered with her speculation.
“So it’s genetical and others might be having it too. Do you know if it could originate from something like experiments or if it’s based on mythology?” She thought out loud.
“I think it’s more of a mythology thing. Pretty sure I will find out at some point. They will probably continue to look for me. For whatever reason.” Harmony speculated further.
“Maybe you’re some important part of their power construct? You’ve learned about your power only a few weeks ago and you’re already so great at so many things from just reading? It’s incredible, there must be something special about you when it comes to dark magic.” Wanda answered with a smile.
“Well, let’s just hope they won’t kidnap me cause I’m not good with torture and I don’t know if I can fight against other magic people that are grouped up.” She shrugged her shoulders.
“I’d come find you alone if I need to and I wouldn’t come to play,” she said chuckling lightly with a bright smile.
“Thank you...you know, for helping me figure this out and understanding.” Harmony said more serious.
“Of course! If you ever need a ear or help just come to me.” Wanda put a hand on her shoulder with an empathic smile and got a nod back before they stood up and went back inside.
Steve was just walking down the hallway from his room to the common area when he saw the two witches and started smiling.
“I heard you’ve been acting up?” He chuckled when they were a little closer.
“It wasn’t my fault the compound was so close to where I wanted that rock to go,” she said holding her hands up with a smile.
“Small energy ball,” he said laughing while messing up her hair like she did with his the last time they spoke.
“Still want me to look into your brain big boy?” She asked with her face looking up at him.
“Now?” He got a nod back “Sure.”
“Come!” She dragged him towards the training room like a little child at a funfair which earned her a little eye roll and a soft smile.
“So I just sit here and do nothing?” He asked with one brow up and a bit of nervousness.
“Yes, and not being afraid would help.” She giggled before letting blue magic shine bright from her right hand while having her other hand on his shoulder.
His eyes widened when he saw her hand, he’d never seen her do magic before and this was more cold turkey than he had imagined in his head.
“Relax,” she said softly before putting her fingers onto his forehead and seeing his eyes turn black.
She went through a lot of beautiful and bittersweet memories and giggled at some of the 30s and 40s memories.
“Didn’t know James looked so adorable as a teenager.” She giggled looking at a memory of them running through the streets of Brooklyn.
There were some gruesome things but nothing could ever top what she saw with James and she was determined to learn self healing in the upcoming months. She put the bad memories into the back again and the good ones in the main focus before taking her hand away again and seeing a happy and hazy-minded Steve sitting in front of her.
“Wow.” He blinked a few times and shook his head before looking at her again.
“If this is what you did to James I’m sure he is doing much better than before. That was amazing, Harmony!” He smiled, stood up and enveloped her into a hug.
“Thank you. I’m still learning self healing and can’t really experience it for myself right now. One day,” she mumbled into his chest.
“And also...yes he looked pretty adorable compared to how he looks now.” She could feel the smile in her hair.
She gave him a slight slap on the back “He still looks adorable.” She spoke out the facts.
“You sure you’re not in love?” He smiled down at her after parting the hug again.
She shrugged with a innocent smile back as they started leaving the room again.
The first thing she saw was long brown hair from the back when they left the room and her first instinct was to yell “James!” and come running towards him while he turned around.
She ran right into him with a dull sound and an “I’m so tireeed!”
He chuckled after balancing himself out, “Why are you tired little witch?”
“I practiced magic. A lot. I actually destroyed a door with a rock. Ask Tony!” She said muffled by his shoulder.
He laughed out loud at the picture of that in his head, “Well, I actually wanted to make myself some coffee but if you wanna go back to sleep.”
Steve and James looked at each other with a little smile before James threw Harmony over his shoulder and walked towards her room.
“You’re still adorable. Just a little bit more...hot.” She tried to explain to him and earned a smirk before being attacked with a kiss.
His left brow went up, “Wh-” The explanation hit him “Oooh! Yeah, I guess I looked pretty, uuuh, soft when I was younger.” He gave her a heartwarming smile.
“You’re still adorable. Just a little bit more...hot.” She tried to explain to him and earned a smirk before being attacked with a kiss.

Harmony was about to see the student area of the Stark Tower for the first time. Tony provided all the kids with wifi, laptops, food, medical help and tutoring there. She overheard it in a few conversations and she really wanted to draw in an environment like this again and also learn more about her witchcraft.
As she walked in she could see a lot of concentrated students sitting on laptops and others sitting together talking. She walked into the little laptop area with all the desks to see Steve sitting there drawing concentrated. There weren’t a lot of students in there and most of them had headphones on so she sat down beside him with a “Looks beautiful.”
His head went up and he gave her a soft smile back “Thanks. Still trying to get into all the new markers from this time.”
He had drawn a pink Starbucks drink with alcohol markers, the page he was currently working on was a view of a NYC street and he was painting with gouache.
“Can I join your little art session?” she asked pulling out a watercolor sketchbook and watercolor from her backpack.
“Of course. What’s your art project today?” he asked after finishing another window.
“You…...that sounded like I was flirting. I was not. Just need to get better at watercoloring humans.” she chuckled.
They both looked down and worked on their little projects for a while.
“I heard you called me big energy ball?” he said and couldn’t take himself serious.
“Yup, the outside finally fits the mindset.” she giggled with him.
“You changed something in James’ mind?” he asked a bit softer about the thing he overheard.
“I tried to bring more positive memories in the main focus again. You were doing a lot of dumb shit in the 30s and 40s” she smiled at him because he had stopped to listen to her.
“I was...I can’t even lie about the fact that I wasn’t much different back then. A little less mature, but now I’m just that with the actual body fitting to the mind of a tiny human taking on the world alone.” he laughed about himself.
“I saw some of the memories. They were hilarious.” she was thankful that it was way easier to talk to him than she expected.
“Can you...do that with me too?” he asked curious.
“Yes, but that means I see everything you saved into your long term memory.” she said a little more awkward.
“Oh please don’t tell me you saw all of the assassin stuff...please…” he was concerned for her and looking at her frowning.
“I did...that was my first try. It was a spontaneous thing.” she went back into shy mode but he pulled her onto his lap to give her a big hug.
“Don’t do it with Nat, Sam or Tony. They are good people but that would hurt you more than you could probably take.” he mumbled against her forehead.
“Do you still want me to do it?” she looked up at him.
“Only if you’re comfortable with it...why does this sound like we’re talking about something different.” he realized all of a sudden and both started laughing.
“Something’s still off about the painting.” he said pointing towards it trying to change the subject.
“I think you just need to feel out the colors better. Darker gouache tends to dry lighter and lighter gouache tends to dry darker. Should’ve done a color test. But I think you need to correct the glass reflection on the ground floor here a little bit.” she gave him advice still sitting on his lap.
“Would you stand up, or?” he gestured at her initial seat.
She reseated.
“Hmpf, was so comfortable for once,” she said with a fake pout and got a chuckle back.
After correcting his painting in silence he put down his brush and looked over at Harmony doing her second painting which made the first one fully visible to him.
“Simple but I can definitely see it’s me.” he said smiling at it.
“Just the first layer. Needs another one or two.” she smiled while painting her flower.
“You wanna draw something into my notebook?” he asked a little bit more shy.
“Like a notebook switch? Sure.” she said finishing her last petal before turning to him and interchanging the notebooks.
He grabbed some normal pencils and an eraser before leaning over the next page while she grabbed some of his alcohol markers to start drawing one of the memories she saw in James’ mind of young and small Steve.
There was a comfortable silence between them and the only thing audible were the laptops of some of the students around them and the kids laughing outside of the computer room. He made sure she couldn’t see what he drew with his pencils and was way too concentrated to look over at her beautiful 40s painting.
After about 30 minutes both of them finished their drawings almost in sync and looked up at each other.
They put both of them between each other and held their breath for a second.
“You drew me? Wow. That’s...so detailed.” she said in awe before reading the little note below “for the small energy ball, from the big energy ball ❤”
“This is the cutest thing ever.” she said while giving him a hug and he was so concentrated on her liking it that he looked at her drawing just now over her shoulder while breaking the hug again.
“You drew me from Bucky’s eyes?” he was in awe, this was a gift so rare that he couldn't grasp it. Seeing through someone else’s eyes was almost impossible but she put it into a drawing.
“When I went through his mind this is one of the memories I made clearer for him again. I think it’s very you.” she said soft and with her guard up.
“Wow. I remember that day. We got in big trouble for spending all our money on unhealthy stuff but the whole day was so much fun.” he smiled down at his notebook with the most genuine smile in weeks.
“You have such an unique bond. I wanted to put that into a drawing.” she said fidgeting with her fingers.
“You two also have a very different connection. I’ve never seen him protect someone like that.” he tried to look into her eyes but they stayed on her hands.
“I feel like he’s the only person that can relate to how I feel and also keep me save, you know?” she said very vulnerable.
He grabbed her hands and made her look up at him, “I might not be able to relate but I would definitely keep you save too.”
A weak smile formed on her lips and a slight nod gave him an answer.
“Can I see the rest of your sketchbook?” she ask shyly again and he grabbed it and put it on her lap with a smile.
She grabbed it and slowly went from page to page. There were a lot of 40s related paintings but also a lot of new ones.
He drew James and Natasha a lot, sometimes the whole team, there was a little sketch with all of them sitting at the kitchen table laughing, a drawing of her and James when they sat in the corner of the common room, food with recipe notes, a page filled with uniform designs, a sketch of Peggy Carter, a watercolor painting of Grand Central Station, two hands holding each other, a bruised Thor and a closeup of his hammer, a street in Brooklyn back in the day. He didn’t seem to use the notebook chronological and just opened a page and started creating.
Meanwhile he looked at her notebook. The outside was filled with stickers of potions, black cats and flowers. She was into witchcraft before she knew she was gifted.
There were a lot of watercolor and marker drawings, her mom, the campus of Syracuse University, a stranger in a coffee shop, part of what looked like her room, two people kissing, fashion sketches, crystals and moons, braided hair, two people hugging, a collage of the different parts of her outfit, sneakers, a sketch of the library in the compound, a sketch of James, an unfinished sketch of what happened to her mother, a sketch of sleeping James, a detailed painting of hands doing blue magic, a painting of James with black eyes and a smile, a sketch of the common area, the flower she just painted, the first layer of the painting she made of him and the sketch he made of her. She was very organized in the way she drew.
She looked at his concentrated face and noticed he finished going through the sketches but showed him the last page of the notebook. There was a big sticker of his shield on the little pocket in the back of the book that held little nicnacs.
He looked at her with a smile and a little bit of pride “Was that always there?” he asked.
“Yeah.” she said smiling back at him, taking her sketchbook back.
The moment was interrupted with a 10th grader coming into the room looking straight at them.
“Could you help us with world war stuff? We’ve been sitting here trying to get it into our heads and…” Steve smiled and nodded.
He left his stuff with Harmony which started doodling little things onto another page. A little shield, a bit of magical stuff, hearts, stars, moons, dots and a little note.
*Always prefered you over Stark. Thought you wanted to know. Guess I have a soft spot for old grandpa Avengers. -small energy ball*
After looking around at the concentrated students she picked up her brush again and started doing the second layer of her painting of him.
“Harmony?” she heard from a computer voice above.
“Yeah?” she said a bit weirded out. She still wasn’t used to FRIDAY at all.
“Captain Rogers has been called to the compound for a mission and asks if you could bring his belongings with you back to the compound.” the voice asked.
“Sure. Tell him to stay safe.” she said with a little smile.
“I will make sure to do so, Harmony.” the voice stopped.
Once of the students had took his headphones out to listen to the interaction and got a shy smile from Harmony.
“You are allowed to take his things with you?” she asked in awe.
“I’m just bringing them back where they belong, I guess.” Harmony answered softly.
“Can I ask you something?” the girl, probably around 16, asked.
“Uuuh, sure.” she smiled.
“Is he really as serious as everyone thinks. He seemed to be very childish and funny with you.” she asked with a nervous voice and a shy smile.
“Nooo, he is a total dork but he knows when to be serious. If you ever have a problem with anything just ask him. He’s super nice and wants everyone to feel comfortable.” a smile came across the lips of both females.
Harmony continued to put his sketchbook and art supplies into her bag, stood up and grabbed a bottle of water and a pack of chips from the food shelves behind her before turning around.
“See you around?” she asked the girl and got a smile and a nod back before she walked out of the room and made her way back to the compound.
