How do we feel about a witch AU? Like, witches were originally believed to have made a deal with the Devil to get their powers, so it's based on that concept of witches. Basically: Celestials are able to be patrons for witches.

*Like, Mugman and Cuphead had been part of a tiny coven with Elder Kettle that worshipped a Celestial long forgotten but refered to as The Lady. When Elder Kettle got sick and nothing they did could heal him they felt like The Lady had abandoned them, abandoned him, so in desperation they sought out The Devil and made a deal. The deal was he would give them more power, and heal their Elder but they had to do his bidding until The Debt was repaid. A Life for a Life after all. The thing they don't know is that The Lady never abandoned them, she could never have abandoned her Most Treasured but there is something keeping her from being able to fully help them. On top of that the twins have been keeping Secrets. Mugman's is that a particularly cruel and insistent Celestial has grown fond of him and very much wants Mugman as theirs. Cuphead has been dealing with a Patron that has been Tormenting him. He can't figure out what their angle is, be it revenge for one of theirs or something else, it just won't leave him be. The only thing really keeping them safe is The Devil's Claim as well as the protection of The Lady.

*Bendy's Patron is The Demon, but he doesn't know that. He doesn't know how he got these magics nor what deal would have been made to get them. Boris is not affiliated with a patron, but he is basically part of Bendy's coven. He might actually know more than he lets on...

For the most part the Stars and their teams each have the same Patron (basically each team is a coven) with the exception of a couple of them:

*The Gardencrew has Astro but do not realize that he is The Hermit. Like, Dandy is the only one who knows that their Patron is one of their friends/allies.

*Mario has his own Patron as do Sonic and Tails, but they are family and they still pay deepest respect to the other can. The rest of the defense team share Sonic and Tails', but Shadow and his team have a different one. Rouge makes fun of Shadow because their Patron and Sonic's have History (Could be familial or romantic but it's def one of those two.). Mario's Patron has practically adopted the defense team by proxy which gives them some extra protection. Luckily these Patrons are not the jealous type.

*Mickey has A Patron but it's not His Patron and unlike the Collectors he was not willing nor desperate enough to turn his back on his, but he was forced to anyway. He hates it every day knowing the magic he uses is not his own.

Evangeline in my silly witch AU (and out of context scribbles)

She is an old witch who people seek out for help (a little too much for her liking)

Isolde and her share the same magic type while Trista is cursed hehe get it*gets shot* with dark magic that's rare and dangerous when left unchecked

Evangeline was afraid of this magic so she neglected Trista a lot so their relationship is strained until the events of Trista´s hunt by the local villagers she is speedrunning mother of the year at that point

She is the biggest isokania shipper and plays the wingwoman for Isolde until Trista ruins their relationship

Eventually, she ends up having a little love affair with a local blind doctor totally not Dores when a plague starts killing everything in the kingdom and the two work together to find a cure

The exiled enchantress aka Trista in the Witch AU

She is a talented witch who uses dark magic, mainly curses. Unlike Isolde, she is hated by humans and lives secluded alone like a hermit. She is no contact with her family because of her trauma (Evangeline being scared of her and favoring Isolde). Because of this she cursed Isolde by trapping her in a cage. I have no idea why Isolde is locked away in that AU but here I made Trista be the cause of it Luckily, the Emerald Witch came to Isolde´s rescue and the two grew closer together, eventually falling for one another.

Eventually, the villagers nearby have started blaming Trista for the bad crops and plague that's currently ravaging the land. They marched towards her cottage with pitchforks to kill her. Trista escaped but this left her homeless. Isolde and Kakania help her out despite everything that happened between them.

While living together, Isolde has been trying to make Trista and Evangeline be on good terms with each other. The two reconcile and try to rebuild their mother-daughter relationship again. This did not stop Trista growing jealous and angry so in her miserable state she brew an anti-love potion to get back at her sister for having the perfect life but in the end decided against using it on the love birds. She felt bad for being a jerk to them while they are trying to help her. Plus, her mother is back in her life too. However, its too late and the love birds mistakenly drank the brew.

Unfortunately, Trista isn't a good potion maker and the brew comes with side effects: not only do Kakania and Isolde no longer have feelings for each other, they both are infatuated with Trista (yes, Isolde too oddly enough)

tl;dr Trista is an evil witch with mommy issues who goes through a redemption arc only to end up spending most of her days trying to come up with an antidote while fighting off two very in love witches that wont leave her alone because her anti-love potion backfired. And Evangeline helps her with it (mostly just kicks her lazy ass to revert this mess)

anyways this idea walloped me in the face to use after a certain video crossed my feed while browsing for ASMR to listen to said video will be credited in the end

You were hanging out in your shared dorm room, just scrolling on your phone while Jax was doing.. something witchcraft-related on his side of the room. As far as you could tell, anything he did was some "bubble bubble, toil and trouble" mumbo jumbo. Whatever he was doing seemed to go awry, judging by his reaction as a mass of smoke starts to pour out of the cauldron.

"Shit- That's not right."

Before you could start to worry about what might be happening, the smoke flooded the room, stinging your lungs (albeit not as much as non-magical smoke does). Coughing, you try and fan at your face to no avail.. which only takes maybe a minute to dissipate, the only trace it left being the empty cauldron and the soot clinging to the room.

Across the room, Jax was also coughing, although his voice sounded.. higher? "Fuck! What the hell kinda ritual did I do?"

Looking at Jax, you can immediately see that whatever spell was done seemed to turn him into a woman. The rabbit looks over at you, expression falling a bit as he looks at you.

"Ohh shit.. uh- you doing good there, roomie?"

You blink, slightly worried now as you look down at yourself.. finding yourself also changed completely, your body having done a full swap just like Jax's did. I was wondering why I felt a little off…

"Oh. Well that's- this is.. definitely new." You look back over at them. "Are you doing alright? Because you also…"

Jax suddenly looks down at himself, ears straightening out in shock. "Oh fuck! Uh- Alright, okay.. I can undo this…" He frantically looks back through the book he had, flipping past the worn pages. "What the fuck did I even cast?"

You get up off your bed, your body feeling relatively normal all things considered. "Uh, what were you trying to cast?"

"Well I was trying to get a transmutation ready for July 4th, pull a Jesus and turn water into booze.. get wasted for cheap y'know?"

He continues flipping back between pages, gloved hand raising to massage at his temple. "For fuck sake.. the page is fucked! C'mere roomie."

You walk over and Jax shows you the relevant pages while ranting. "Here, is where that 'transmute liquid' spell is, ya get the description and a whole page of backstory like any kinda recipe book. But here- look here."

He points to the actual recipe of the ritual.. and not-so-notably, in suspiciously finer print than the rest of the page is the spell name: Reveal True Self. "True Self"? Taking a closer look, you read what the spell's effect is supposed to be.. change the form into one's ideal self. You look back over to Jax, their face a bit unreadable.

"I- I guess I messed it up or somethin' and turned it into a gender-switch spell.. 'cause this one is apparently the base for all polymorphs. So, I just gotta redo this spell correctly and we'll go right-on back to normal!"

Well.. this doesn't really feel all that bad, but… "Do you.. want some help?"

They look up at you, expression mostly normal but their eyes seem somewhat frantic. "S-Sure, just.. just pass me what I tell you to. Most of this stuff is really precise."

With a slight nod, you start helping Jax with the ingredients, passing them back and forth from a makeshift-looking ingredient shelf. Despite yourself, you can't help the thought that escapes you.

"Y-You look really pretty like this."

They pause, face reddening slightly before they shake their head and keep working. "Yeah well don't get used to it.. once I get this done I'll be back to normal, along with you."

After a bit, the cauldron is a swirling mix of colors, and Jax seems to have a lot on their mind. "Alright.. just gotta get this incantation to make it work… Says right here.. needs a precise recitation and a bell."

Without hesitation they grab a small hand bell from nearby, starting to recite the spell.. not without a few fumbles and retries, ringing the bell once every few words. After going through the whole incantation, the fire under the cauldron flares up and the concoction boils off into smoke.

"Th-There it is.. just breathe in the smoke, and we'll be right back to normal."

The two of you stand right next to the cauldron as the smoke pours out.. and as you breathe it in, you can't help but notice that it looks and feels identical to the first time… So you weren't really surprised when the smoke cleared and nothing changed. Jax, on the other hand.. seemed more frantic.

"No, no, no.. I did it right!" She picks the book back up, reading and re-reading the spell. "Inhale the smoke, and.. change the form.. into one's ideal self…"

You tentatively step closer. "I- I meant what I said."

Jax looks up at you, looking slightly less frantic.. but more lost and confused. "Wha..?"

"Earlier.. I didn't mean to say it out loud, but I do mean it. You do look really pretty like this."

She blinks, seemingly processing your words before setting the book down and slumping back. "I.. I just never really… I dunno, I never really gave it much thought.. didn't really feel that good to think about." Looking back over to you, she chuckles softly. "Guessing you're feelin' pretty comfortable in that new body too?"

You just nod, part of you still getting used to the feeling of said new body. It doesn't take too long for Jax's typical confidence to slowly creep back in. "I guess I am pretty smokin' like this, huh? If I ain't careful I'll set off the smoke alarms~"

Chuckling at the dumb joke, you speak up again. "Yeah, you'll definitely knock 'em dead, girl. I just got this feeling you'll absolutely slay."

Jax's expression suddenly shifts and she places her face into her hands. "Fuuuuuuck we're gonna have to do so much paperwork for this…"

Shit, it's your archenemy.. bureaucracy.

secondly despite still being in the process of questioning my own genda I do not have experience with being trans and as such I am so sorry if this comes out. Not Great. as a result!

thirdly I hope the descriptors for Reader being trans'd is vague enough that any of y'all trans kings, queens, and nonbinary lieges can slot yourself in relatively easily

So for the AU where all mutants are magic users, Goblin Queen is still Jean Grey's clone that was created by Sinister and the Phoenix Force isn’t from outer space but is the actual mythical bird that doesn't have a physical body anymore so uses Jean Grey as her host.
