SMD Harmonic Gearbox also called as Strain Wave Gearbox is a type of Gear system that uses flexible spline, circular spline and a wave generator for its operation.  This type of mechanism is mostly used in Robotics and in Aerospace because of its compact and light weight feature. It can be used in variety of operations ranging from low cost applications to high value applications like military or aerospace applications.

SMD deals into two types of Gearbox in Harmonic Series, SCSG Series which has an flange output and SSHG Series which has hollow shaft output. The below mentioned is SCSG – 2A Cup type Gearbox.  This Series is light in weight and mainly used where output flange required is small in size. The Torque range for this Gearbox ranges from 4.4 Nm to 523 Nm and the reduction ratio ranges from 1:50 to 1:160.  This Gearbox is widely used in Robotics and Semiconductor Industries.
