          “I don’t like speaking badly about my friends. Likewise, there is nothing I dislike about them, otherwise we would not be friends in the first place. There is a difference between that, and traits that sometimes conflict with my own, which is what I will list instead,”

     Hands rest themselves atop of the blonde’s lap, brows furrowing as a rather displeased look settles onto her features. What a rude question-- invasive, too. Yet Serena speaks the truth-- there is nothing she dislikes about any of her friends, not even a little.

          “For example, Nix, Eris and Sedna can be too hasty, but I don’t dislike that about them. It just lands them all in trouble sometimes, and I wish they would think things through a little more. Which is also what I would say about Barry.”

     Silence. Then, with a shift in her seat and the corners of lips tugging downwards, she continues.

          “Red can be a little too blunt, but it’s also a trait I very much like about him. It really just depends on the situation, but he is an invaluable friend of mine, and I don’t dislike anything about him. The same can be said about Hikari. Except she sometimes lacks empathy in situations that call for it. I don’t dislike that about her, but it does mean that, occasionally, it can be frustrating to try and explain why she should feel bad over a situation. But her friendship is also invaluable to me.”

     A single finger taps against the back of her other hand, hoping that this stranger will, at the very least, understand that she is not the sort to entertain this sort of thing-- not even jokingly. The people held closest to her heart-- they are there for a reason, and it is most certainly not because the heroine places each of the individual’s traits into boxes that are likeable or disliked. What a unkind way to view one’s friends, she thinks.

          “Kouki is similar, for a lack of outward emotion. But he is like a brother to me, and I would go to the ends of the world just to make him smile. Dexio and Sina can be too optimistic, but it is also what I adore about them. I love all of my friends, there is nothing I dislike about them, and I don’t appreciate this question.”

What’s the hardest part about being in the rpc on Tumblr?

The fact that I feel like even though this place isn’t great, it’s the best I’m ever going to get.

What’s the best part about being in the rpc on tumblr?

The people I’ve found who truly love and support me. I would wade through all the bullshit twice over if it meant getting to meet you and make lasting friendships all over again.

What’s the biggest problem in the rpc?

Answered here, but I’d say one other big problem (though a rather less serious one) is that nobody is willing to play unattractive or average-attractive muses that aren’t bad guys. I understand that it’s terribly hard to do when every single available faceclaim is an anime character meaning that it’s all but mandatory that They Are The Hottest Shit unless they are cartoonishly ugly--so most people will default to characters who are the hottest shit. However, even so, I would encourage people to play good characters that aren’t 100% in line with peoples’ standards of what is physically perfect and go fc-less if they can’t find a suitable fc. While the superior hotness of my favorite men Lotor and Anakin is non-negotiable, I do have a couple of characters that I’d say aren’t off-the-charts sexy like Psyche, Lottie and Sun-hwa. Sun-hwa in particular I’m planning to go through a character arc centered around how she becomes more positive toward her appearance instead of worrying about what people say about it.

And since I feel like venturing out on a limb even though this may make me seem like a hypocrite…Another big problem, albeit also much less serious than the one I linked to, is that nobody wants their muse to lose. Which sounds incredibly bitchy of me to say, ‘cause my muses are part of a League where every Gym Leader is as strong as a Champion of a regular League, but believe it or not, I have plotted and headcanoned times where my muses have lost, and not just the villain ones--and I have had fun with it. @idanikou‘s Ghetsis has won the Uniman League in our shared canon, and I still have an old thread I need to get to with Knight where his Atlas beats the shit out of Anakin despite having little flying experience and teaches him a lesson in humility and how to be a proper soldier and leader. Feiyun manages to defeat @muse-in-a-box‘s Nicole in the GSS Tournament, but after Nicole picks up military moves from Unima, Feiyun can’t seem to get a win in. @fallenxspirit‘s Spirit and Tobias are constantly tied neck-and-neck in terms of how many battles each wins against the other. @writtenbykaichu‘s Hop is going to have the battle of his life when he defeats my Wallace of all people, who I’d say is my most OP muse other than the ones on this blog. Heck, I have an entire AU with @ondarkestdragonswings dedicated to my entire League being purged by his villainous muse except for a few survivors so for the record beating the League is possible. And then of course the record for the most humiliating defeat of all goes to the most powerful character on this blog, Friedrike Skyherald. She was stronger than Arceus and pummeled the SHIT out of him before he pulled the fucking cheap shot of disguising as her ex-lover who told her that she’d forgiven her. Friedrike literally died when she kissed Arceus thinking her ex was finally making up with her, and he sucked her soul out of her body. So yeah. It’s okay to have your characters lose sometimes, whether in their backstories or in RP. It’s good for character growth.

“From what I hear of Barry nowadays, he’s becoming a Sinnohan staple, the inspiring story of a hometown hero crawling back to previously glorious heights. Good for him. However, my opinion on the blond brat hasn’t changed: he’s always been the weakest of that little trio. Hikari took the strength, Kouki took the brains...and Barry is left with the scraps. As I saw at Lake Acuity, he’s all bluster, relying on others to prop him up and give him purpose. It’s honestly sad.” 

“Barry was and is still irrelevant to me,” Eris concludes bluntly, her smile tinged with a sneer. “No matter how fast he runs...I don’t think he’ll ever be able to leave the shadows of his more successful friends and family.”

“As for Kouki, I’m honestly surprised by his intelligence and critical, frosty outlook on life. I have to wonder why he chooses to associate himself with the other brats, especially Barry. In the end, I suppose that he’s just a child along with the rest of them--someone who grew up much too quickly.”

“Throughout his journey, Kouki has shown me flashes of intellectual aptitude and ruthless conviction,” Eris observes bemusedly. “In a way, he reminds me of my younger self. I’m sure he’d be overjoyed to hear that.”

    “I have so many friends... and not one of them knows that I struggle with my mental health, though that’s entirely on me. Acting like I’m okay comes second-nature to me now, especially since I try to pretend like everything’s just fine and dandy all the time just so no one worries.”

    “But sometimes the feeling is suffocating. Sometimes my chest aches desperately and I just start crying for no good reason, and I can’t stop it.
