Torche turns the dial from pop back to sludge. Crusher.

"Harmonslaught" - Torche
Torche - 'Harmonslaught'/'Rock 'N' Roll Mantasy' 7"
Everything Torche does is pretty much, like, totally radical, so I was completely unsurprised after 'Harmonslaught', an all-destroying wrecking ball of a track, both destroyed and wrecked me in the best possible way. The band may have moved into a more melodic frame of mind with last year's excellent Harmonicraft living up to its title's stoner-pop implications, but this 7" shows they're still more than ready to get heveveveveveavy. The title track throws down crushing doom riffs that bring to mind the sludgiest moments on their self-titled debut and 2008's Meanderthal, while the b-side, 'Rock 'N' Roll Mantasy' ups the tempo and brings it all home in style along the same badass lines. So rad, so rad.
