I think one of the things I miss most about "old school" glee rping is the amount of variety you saw among the characters. I miss seeing Sugar Motta, Mike Chang, Jesse St. James, Harmony Pearce, Sunshine Corazon, Matt Rutherford, Rory Flanagan, or heck, even super minor characters like Giselle from Vocal Adrenaline. There was a chance to interact with everyone a few years ago.

When Harmony Pearce was in school, was the perfect student and daughter: she had a 4.0 GPA, talents that excelled many, and a wit that won over everyone’s heart. She dipped her toes in anything she could, from science to art, to sports to drama. Harmony was not afraid to try anything new. Of course, everybody knew that her dream was the Broadway stage. She worked her tail off– for the lack of a better term– to make sure she would be accepted into NYADA. All her free time went to polishing her skills and making sure that she was the best of the best. It worked, she was accepted and was ready to set sails to New York.

Graduation, Harmony began to pack her things. Her room was ready and all in boxes, all she needed were the important documents, like her birth certificate. She didn’t think that she would have needed her parents’ permission to seek out her own files, so they didn’t know that she had been digging through the office. Maybe if they had, they would have approached the situation differently. What she found in her file, yes, was her birth certificate, but it wasn’t her mom’s name that was listed under ‘mother’s name’. A woman named Sandra Bowers took that spot. Harmony waited for her parents to arrive home, and when they did she confronted her parents straight away. They were not compliant at first and attempted to turn the tables on her first ‘why were you going through the files?’, ‘calm down’. There was no calming down and Harmony knew that she had every right to go through her own documents. Finally, they gave up the fight and admitted to her that while her father was her biological father, the stranger named Sandra Bowers was her biological mother. According to her parents, Sandra had abandoned Harmony and her father when she was still a baby, though they didn’t share why.

As planned, she moved to New York. She left many of her things behind when she did. She attended NYADA, but she didn’t have the best reputation. Her silly wit soon became harsh sarcasm, if she didn’t get what she wanted, she would throw tantrums to the point of being kicked out of class. It was safe to say that soon enough, she was dropped from all her classes; maybe the old Harmony would have cared, but the new one just found it to be a sign to find Sandra and confront her about the abandonment. Harmony became obsessed with the woman named Sandra Bowers. She took jobs in towns where a woman under that name lived, only to leave when she discovered that she had the wrong person. No one from her past knows where Harmony is, and a large part of her wishes to keep it that way.

She crashed on other’s people’s couches and worked a waitress position and even found an apartment with an open room, though the apartment itself was filled with numerous people who she did not get along with. She kept to herself and focused on researching different archives to find information on where her mother was. Unfortunately, the time in the apartment was cut short once more people moved into the apartment and were going to be bunked in her room. After a breakdown, Harmony took her things and left, leaving her homeless. She, again, would crash on people’s couches but when she was fired due to her attitude and tardiness, she was unable to pay those who would let her sleep in their homes. She spent almost four months on the streets, picking up odd jobs and sometimes even sneaking into gyms or using beach showers to keep up her hygiene.

One day, Harmony stepped into a pawn shop to sell some of her jewelry to earn some food money. The man in front of her was trying to sell off some coins, and the shop keep would not take them for a fair price. Taking the opportunity, Harmony harped on about how the coins were actually worth far more than he wanted to take them for and made up a story on how her father would buy them for a “pretty penny”. Taking the bait, the man upped the price and took the coins. When Harmony sold her jewelry afterwards and stepped out, the stranger stepped up to her and offered to buy her dinner. Seeing how she wasa starving, she accepted and was taken to a diner. He paid for her food, allowing her to order anything she wanted. He opened up, stating that he needed someone like her, someone who can sell. At first, Harmony didn’t understand, but she slowly realized what exactly he was selling: pills and weed. She didn’t want to take the offer, but he told her that she could live with him in his RV, have a safe place until she could pick herself back up. With that, she accepted.

During their travels, the two found themselves in Ohio. Harmony didn’t want to “cave in” but she figured that enough years have passed to have closure. So, she stepped out one night and went to her father’s house. She walked in and saw that all her photos were taken down and they were happy without her. Since then, Harmony began to spiral, nearly forgetting why she left her father’s home in the first place.

CONNECTIONS

Mr. & Mrs Pearce: The Pearce family has tried to move on from Harmony’s disappearance, unknowingly seeming as though they want nothing to do with the awol daughter. Sandra Bowers (Birth mother): Harmony’s birth mother, Sandra Bowers, “abandoned” Harmony when she was about two years old. Her location is currently unknown. Un-named cousin: Harmony lived with a distant cousin when she first moved away from home, but after she was kicked out of NYADA, she packed up her things and left. Their relationship was strained due to her personality change. Lucas McDaniels: A drug dealer who took Harmony off the streets and is having her help him deliver and sell drugs. The two seem to have a friends with benefits relationship. Capella Lamb (Aunt): Harmony does not know anything about her aunt, or that she exist. Capella lived with Sandra and their mother, who had changed her last name to Lamb after leaving her husband– Capella and Sandra’s (her sister’s) father. She currently lives with her niece, Melody. Melody Lamb (Sister):  Harmony does not know anything about her sister, or that she exist.  Melody Lamb was born in New Jersey on November of 1995. A NECESSARY INTRODUCTION

This is Harmony Pearce. She is 20 years old, currently a Junior at McKinley and her concentration is Performance Art (Musical Theatre). She is heterosexual, and it is said she looks like Katie Stevens. Sadly for you she is taken.

WHO WILL I BE? ITS UP TO ME

Harmony has been performing since she was in diapers. Her parents used one of her ultra sounds in Murder, She Wrote, and when she was toddler she was one of the Gerber babies. Maybe once it was her parents dream for her to be an actress, but it soon became something she wanted for herself as well.

Harmony has always been proactive. She doesn’t wait for her dreams to come to her, she chases them. While that may be off putting to some, Harmony swears she doesn’t need the kind of friends who don’t share her same thoughts and values. Sure, it get’s lonely from time to time, but she has all the people she needs in her life, there’s no room for negative Nancy’s.

If was an obvious choice when Harmony requested she attend McKinley. Her last school was okay when it came to academics, and their glee club had come in second at Regionals, but she wanted to be apart of a winning team at a school that would help further her aspirations and opportunities.

Harmony is very involved in school. Anything that looks good on a resume is something that she’ll consider doing. Her days are packed with performance opportunities, advanced classes, and extracurriculars, a mix of things she truly enjoys doing and things she took on to make her appear extra impressive in the future.

This need to impress can be chalked up to two things: the fact that Harmony is incredibly competitive and feels the need to be the best, even when it comes to things like resume building, and the fact that (unsurprisingly), Harmony is a bit of a perfectionist. Her perfectionism stems from the fact that her parents always told her as a child that she needed to be the best that she could be (since they didn’t want their only child to fail). Now she spends her days doing just that. She’s terrified of disappointing anyone if she fails at anything or quits at something, so she always gives all that she can. She knows the pressure she puts on herself is likely to add up over time, but has faith that if she keeps her focus and prioritizes, everything will work out.

Harmony has already decided what her future will entail. She may not be attending NYADA, but she’s making the most of her time at McKinley, where she is majoring in musical theatre. Every spare moment she has is spent making useful connections for the future - anything that may someday help to get her on Broadway is something she’ll do. Harmony dislikes not knowing things, especially pertaining to her future, so she’s doing all she can to make sure that her dream becomes a reality. 

Harmony has lived in Ohio almost her whole life (minus a few summer stock engagements) and though she loves her parents and her friends, and though she knows that her situation in Lima is certainly not a bad one, she can’t wait to get out of the place and start living the life that she always dreamed of in New York. She’s been counting down the days until her graduation while still attempting to enjoy her life in small town Ohio as much as possible. It helps that she’s so involved with the arts, though - before she started overloading on artistic distractions she was even more desperate to escape.

THE LITTLE BLACK BOOK

Sugar Motta (+): When you look at Harmony and Sugar, you’d immediately notice how different the two girls are. Harmony with her fierce, confident personality, and Sugar with her fun loving, silly one. Harmony with her chic, simple outfits and Sugar with her bright pink, bold ones. The two girls are different sides of the same coin, and while most are baffled by their friendship, it works perfectly for them.

Hunter Claington (+/-): The whole Troubletones and Duly Noted rivalry, while entertaining and morale boosting, causing quiet a bit of sexual tension. Hunter and Harmony would be the prime example of this. Often throwing passive aggressive comments, or backhanded compliments at each other, it was no surprise when they ended up in a heated make out session in the janitors closet one day. Both too busy for a relationship, and loyal to their team, the two find this arrangement pretty perfect.

Bree Brown (+/-): Both Harmony and Bree have a competitive drive within them and it does make for a few tense conversations during show choir meetings. Although, Bree seems promising enough for a future member of The Troubletones, she’s got a bit of an attitude problem, and Harmony is not looking for another room full of diva’s when she’s the Troubletones’ Captain. So she’s keeping an eye on Bree, while also making it known she’s not in the mood for petty little games, especially if Bree wants her vote into TT.

Brody Weston (+): Brody and Harmony’s parents became close once Brody moved to Lima, as did their kids. Both only children, Brody and Harmony grew to be such good friends that they started acting like each other’s long lost sibling. With Brody being older, he often takes over the protective brother role in Harmony’s life. While she is the wise, younger sister who tells him when he’s being stupid.

In the small town of Dillon, Texas, high school football and basketball are everything to it’s residents. Everywhere you go within the town limits you will find Panther Pride, especially since Dillon’s Varsity teams are always among the top in the state of Texas.

Underneath all the Panther Pride though is a long-lasting rivalry between the football and basketball teams that began some 70 years ago when your grandparents were students at Dillon High. Why did this rivalry form though? Each team wanted to be the beloved apple of the town’s eye and there is only room for ONE top team in Dillon. In recent years though this rivalry has only seemed to have intensified with the ill-fated Puckerman brothers both at DHS and each one a member of the rivaled teams. The pranks have intensified, the fights between rivaling members have intensified and so have the stakes. Not only are they now vying to be the top team in town, but they are now vying for the best Rally Girls, a father’s ultimate love and of course all the bragging rights that come with being among the top in the state.

Clear Eyes Full Hearts is an AU Glee RPG inspired by the shows Friday Night Lights and One Tree Hill.
