Buckle Up: Accessorize Using Harnesses This Fall
A big trend that has been quickly gaining traction this fall/winter is layering harnesses atop everyday wear. Rooted in BDSM culture, this trend requires no whips or chains. With the inspiration for this trend coming from a niche subculture, which some may find too edgy, it has been slow to gain mass acceptance. With harnesses recent representation in runway shows including Dior, Gucci, Alexander McQueen, Vera Wang, and more fashion lovers are starting to adopt the look too.

Back in 2014 the debut of the Fifty Shades of Grey film brought BDSM culture into the mainstream news, leading the culture and fashion adaptations to appear less taboo. Years later, we are now seeing these looks across couture runways and even on the red carpet. Celebrities such as Timothe Chalamet, Orlando Bloom, and Michael B Jordan are some of the men who have brought this look to life on the red carpet.

Do you think accessorizing with harnesses is NSFW (not safe for work)? After working from home for over a year, business casual is starting to look different. Business casual looks are all the rage to don with your favorite harness accessory. Layering a harness over a white collared shirt and topping it off with a coat is one popular option. Another way to wear your harness is atop a tailored suit jacket. If worn in the right way, keeping the look understated and chic, harnesses can be the perfect way to take your office fashion to the next level.
