Harper was happy that she’d convinced Russel to come out with her, as the last thing she wanted to be was the person who showed up to the party alone. “If we end up being so late that all of the good snacks are gone I’m holding you personally responsible.” She called down the hallway as she waited by the front door where she was already dressed up as a pepper shaker.

Oh, look! It’s [HARPER PHILLIPS]! I heard they’re [23], a [CIS FEMALE], use [SHE/HER] pronouns, have been in town for [TWO YEARS] and are actually from [PARK CITY, UTAUH]. They are currently working as the [FREELANCE ARTIST] and living in [OLD LYMEMOUTH]. You know, I personally think they look like [ALISHA BOE], but that’s crazy, right?
BIOGRAPHY:
Harper Ivy Phillips was born in a small town Utah. After her mother gave birth to her she was left at the hospital with a note explaining that she wanted her daughter to have a better life. She was then put up for adoption where she was adopted by the Phillips and eventually became their middle child. Even though she and her siblings were not related by blood they did get along decently well. Harper knew that she was lucky that she got to be part of such an amazing family and she was thankful.
Although ever since she was a kid Harper has struggled with her identity. It wasn’t that she wasn’t happy with the Phillips, because she was, the young girl just couldn’t help but be curious about who she was. This is something that she continued to struggle with as she got older. Due to this she constantly found herself trying to find out more about who her birth mother might be, but unfortunately she wasn’t able to find many leads for a long time. After a while she just had to face the reality that she may never know who she is.
In middle school Harper found her passion for art. It started off with doodles and then soon enough had developed into full on sketches. It was something that she seemed to have a natural talent for. By the time she was in high school she had decided this was exactly what she was meant to be doing for the rest of her life. She spent nearly all of her free time creating some sort of art and nobody close to her was surprised when she got accepted into art school.
Deep down Harper was still scared that she was going to fail though. Many of her teachers told her there was no work for an artist. Harper was determined to prove them wrong though she moved away to pursue her dreams. Thankfully for her she was pretty successful in college and even managed to sell a few of the pieces that she had created. Once she graduated from college she started to work a variety of different art related jobs. Harper moved to Bridgeport over two years mostly because she wanted a fresh start. Although she had also received a lead that her birth mother was born here. Which made it the perfect place for her to go. Once she got to Bridgeport she started to create a lot of art because she felt inspired. Many local people took notice of her art, and she has since created a lot of pieces for local businesses.
Adventures in watercolors, from my sketchbook. Sometimes being an ‘Artist’ really means being someone who gives yourself permission to do and create things even when you might not feel super awesome at them yet. I find it really helpful sometimes to go outside my comfortable medium (ie. music) and play. It makes me more willing to be kind with myself and my stumbles, and summon a little extra courage and softness for writing new songs or working on new projects that I’m taking ‘seriously’.
