Theo found himself nodding along to her words, the certainty of them reassuring. "You're right, like I know you're right, and then my mom calls asking me to consider college again and that gets harder to remember."
To be fair his mom was, mostly, understanding but there were times that she had to remind Theo that he could do better. They'd had that exact conversation just days ago hence why he was here now venting to Juliette.
"College is the path that everyone always pushes. But when you look at the numbers, there are so many people who end up working in fields not even related to what they studied." Juliette said with a shake of her head. "I don't get why it is pushed so hard."
"Young people are just ending up with more and more debt and no way to deal with it." Juliette said as she knew if she were younger that she'd have likely been pushed into college again too. Instead, she was still just her family's disappointment.
