okay but hear me out: a harry potter/devil wears prada crossover where pansy parkinson, eager to escape humiliation and retribution for her actions at the end of the war, learns legilimency to try and stay one step ahead of those who wish her harm and after one too many close calls decides to hide where nobody will ever think to find her - in the muggle world. she moves to new york because london and paris are too familiar and applies for crappy waitressing jobs because how different can that be to doing the same on her side of the border. it sucks and she keeps sending out resumes and one day she eavesdrops on a conversation about the ‘most powerful woman in fashion needing a new junior assistant’ and pansy immediately, desperately wants it for herself. so she applies and dresses in her most stylish outfit and highest pair of heels and gets the position. and within a few months, she’s surprised miranda by being the most efficient and brutal assistant she’s ever had because she can literally read her mind when in the same room
that’s as far as i got but i got invested real fast in pansy getting a job and running away and nailing the world of high fashion/magazines - someone feel free to write this because i’ll probably never flesh it out
