"Aren't you a bit lost," you say.
You look up from where you're sitting on the floor as a boy approaches you from down the hall of the dungeons.You catch the ball you've been bouncing against the wall and study him. You recognize him even though he's about two years above you and in Gryffindor; Neville you think his name is. You definitely know he's friends with the famous Potter kid. He immediately frowns and slows his walk.
"Do I sense fear in a Gryffindor?" You say sarcastically.
"I'm not afraid of you," he replies with his brows furrowed. He's close to you now but you simply look up instead of standing. "I don't want any more trouble than I've already been in."
You laugh. "Detention with Snape the Snake." Now he's confused. "Just because I'm in Slytherin doesn't mean I ignore the fact he's a right git sometimes." He half smiles. "I've had my share of detention with him. Name's Denise."
"Neville," he replies meekly.
"Nice to meet you, Neville."
He looks a bit awkward, like he's unsure if he should stay and chat or continue on his way. You sigh and throw your ball against the wall and catch it once more.
"I suppose I'll see you around then." You say, giving him an out.
"Right, see you" he nods and steps around you to continue down the hall.
