they call it shade queene, frail mother, a faded image in the dreamer’s realm. any other vision of a dark, looming royal would have gone unnoticed--wilting queens and unfit mothers are common things to worry and dream about. she could have just been a figment of an abandoned child, or the self-image of a first-time parent, except for the great crimson viper that so often accompanies her.

when the shadeprince romps in the dreamscape, the shade queene’s shaking figure will crawl along. thus, she is considered a symbol of chaos yet to come.

if you were to play spot-the-difference with the dream and the reality, you would be looking at two completely different pictures.

a miserable, lonely skydancer, and once a member of the bone castle, she fled when the shade that was isolated in her body took the life of her nestmate. knowing that the faith anyone had in her control would dissolve upon the discovery, Vesper tried to run--but found herself unable to move her legs. evidently, her infection was not happy about being imprisoned, and intended to trap her with it to face the Queen’s wrath.

then a certain spiral deigned to spare her life.
