Ο Χορός του Σάκαινα - Εμβληματικό τελετουργικό Χασάπικο - Greek Hasapiko Dance
Hundreds of residents and tourists gathered in Mykonos‘ old port to dance the traditional ”hasapiko” dance on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Orthodox Christian calendar, this Sunday was Palm Sunday, and a big group of professional and amateur dancers wearing traditional Greek island clothes gathered to perform, for the sixth time this year, the traditional and famous ”hasapiko” dance.
The Mykonean hasapiko is a much more difficult variation of the widely popular Greek dance, as it incorporates more difficult dance moves.
Listening to popular and traditional Greek songs, tens of dancers danced along the seafront of the old port of the island and stunned the residents and tourists who were there to enjoy the spectacle.
