When asked what they liked most about HashiMada:

I love that they're two sides of the same coin: one loving so deeply he reshaped the world and one so hounded by the past that he couldn't be happy in that world. It's heartbreaking. Also, the gap between the grandiosity of their legend vs how annoying and uncool they actually are always gets me.

I’ve always appreciated the childhood aspect where their fondness for each other stood the test of time despite canon. There was always a mutual respect and love that I think was quite subdued but larger than themselves which manifested in Konoha.
