It was difficult to choose between the metal smithing and woodworking stations from Sun and Moon for a new family in Wiikdstad. Finally I decided that the new family would be carpenters and live in the forest province.
Ragnar Snickare was trained to be a carpenter by his father. Instead of following in his father’s foot steps he ran away to become a soldier which seemed much more adventurous for a young man. He married a nice girl who gave him two sons that he rarely saw as as he spent most of his time in soldiers’ camps or more rarely on the battle field. When his wife died, Ragnar had to take care of the two sons that he had spent so little time with. He moved to Wiikstad with his teenage boy, Hastein, and his young son Knut and decided to become a carpenter just like his late father. Hastein soon realised that it was up to him to take care of his younger brother and the household.
