We have been divided for way too long. It's time to let love rule the world!

We cannot let hate win.

Context - I live in New Zealand. A white supremacist terrorist struck on March 15th and killed 49 people, Muslims who were gathered for prayer.

I can only speak for myself... I am heartbroken, but I am angry. I am grieving the lives lost and families shattered, but I am not weak. I will fight hate with love. I will call out those who indulge in casual racism. I will bend all the love in my heart and the strength in my soul to helping this place be the New Zealand we wish we were. Don't let things slide... Speak out. For my part I will no longer let my fear and aversion to conflict stop me when I see or hear jokes that rely on racism for the punchline. My discomfort in speaking up is a small price to pay in eradicating the culture of casual discrimination and prejudice that is all too easy to ignore as long as it is not directed at me. Fight hate with love. They cannot win if we do not let them. And we will not let those with hate in their hearts win.

It's been a terrible weekend for peace in the United States. I’m ending the weekend with this song, and I think we all need to hear it right now.

I know that in times like these when this stuff is going on a lot of us poc are looking for some kind of comfort, and this may not help everyone but watching Obama's Election Day message really helped me calm down so maybe watch that if you're feeling a lot of anxiety
