hiii i want to argue and insistently ramble that the Block Tales embodiments are not only a form of self-preservation but also exemplify player's desire for connection.,,,,
Why's Greed trying to catch things in the dreamworld anyways... Is it easier to collect then connect... You know the new collectable featured in this Demo are the Call Cards... Just collect your friends to have on speed dial... If you have them all, if you have so many, you won't be alone... Greed will just take you, too... It wants you (like an item, but it wants you, and that's enough)...
Solitude calls player "special" and reminisces during the battle, either fondly or to keep Player second-guessing themselves so they don't carry on in their journey.
"Oh... That one time..." "Remember the time when..." "I remember when you..."
A quiet connection, solitude for two. If you just stay here with me, no one can get hurt anymore; you don't have to be hurt anymore.
Also. Hatred's dialgoue before Solitude's fight is so interesting - yes it's reminding Player that they're alone (Do you miss your family? Do you miss your friends? Do you miss your teachers? Do you miss your neighbors? Do you miss your grandparents? Do you miss your home?) but all of that turns to being Solitude's color, so it's like. Surely Player feels so alone, the Call Cards aren't enough, and yet, there is longing. Yes you miss it all, you want that connection again. So just stay here in the fight with Solitude, every one of its eyes will be on you, that's the same as a crowd of people, yes? As a family gathering? As a school event?
Fear. Don't you want that genuine concern? Someone worrying over you? Someone fighting to protect you even if they have to work against you? Wouldn't that be nice? To be held and guided? To finally get some signs or directions on your path? Rather than a vague goal you wander towards? Why so many hands, Fear? When was the last time Player was held?
Do you think maybe Hatred picked Builderman as a disguise due to
1.) Player's mission would be over if they found Builderman, thus leading to a false sense of security,
2.) Player ALSO hates Builderman on some level due to frustrations with Shedletsky and his helplessness during RDC leading to an overall distrust of admins, and Hatred needs Player frothing with anger to become more powerful and take control,
3.) Having an admin and one of the very creators of Roblox/this world believe in you and praise you must feel nice. To be directly encouraged, to have someone who knows what they're doing hold your hand, to guide you. It must be nice to be called a hero by the big guy in charge. You'll prove your worth, then. You'll have him watch you get rid of your impurities, then he'll believe you - believe in you - and grant you a restful break. You won't let him fight - you need to show that you're strong enough to handle it all. Then he can send you back to the future. Maybe future him will remember you and praise you, maybe someone will know what you've been through. Someone will have stood by your side.
You could, if you wanted to, now that the voices are obsolete , read Hatred as a test. It knows the only way to come back from touching the Ghostwalker is to purify and purge the worst aspects of oneself. So it disguises itself as Builderman and helps Player along. In the end, Player either succumbs to Hatred and breaks out anyways (these swords are not nearly as powerful as they should be, a being of pure hatred should be able to wield them, and Hatred will carry Player to the very end), or Player wins. Player wins and they're strong enough to carry on. They don't collapse Hatred in their fight, though. Only tame it. After defeating the Ancients, I think if Player really wanted to they could go to Nirvana and completely kill their Hatred, they're most certainly powerful enough. But they don't. They hate themselves for it, but who can blame them for wanting a someone that won't leave them? Or someone that they won't have to leave when it's all over?
Gee Player! How come Spaceman Moonbase gives you FOUR embodiments of emotions that not only match up with reasonable rpg protagonist motives but also capture your desperation for relation that you've lost via being a victim of time travel isekai?
