💖Behind the Scenes-Prologue+Character Designs

To celebrate the recent release of page 50 and the upcoming 1st year anniversary, I thought I’d share some Behind the Scenes information like cut content, design progress, thumbnails, and other fun stuff!
Starting with the Prologue.
Just like with everything, it was hard for me to figure out how to exactly start this whole story, especially since I will be incorporating an ask feature for this comic due to how different the characters are from their canon selves and the worlds operating differently. I decided with starting out not having asks at all just to get my footing and show to the reader who these characters are, what to expect, and what they’re getting into since the askers are not all-powerful. I think I made the right decision here.
I actually did not thumbnail a lot of the prologue and just delve in head first with some plans in the back of my head and just did full sketches of all the pages
Like this. It worked out well for the most part but then I realized I needed more planning so I planed out pages 10 (was 13) to 16 (which was the end page instead of 18)

What pretty much happens in this version is that after they touch the white star, they immediately save and the prologue ends. There was no black void with rainbow strings or anything like that. Page 15 looks pretty bare-bones but it's because here Chara ends almost completely disappearing but Frisk stops it from happening by touching the star for them before they were gone. I wasn’t a big fan of this one since I felt it ended pretty abruptly. Yes, this can work and does build up hype for what will happen next, but I wanted the characters to give some thought into saving Kris like how when you are on a save screen you have all the time to think about if you want to save or not. It also felt more satisfying for both of them saving together rather than just one or the other doing it.
Why was the black void with rainbow strings created?
I wanted a scene that felt as if time stopped with a sketchy art style but was very colorful to reflect the white star. Rainbows were used since White is a combination of all colors which can also be seen when white light passes through a prism and show a rainbow. I thought it would be fitting for the characters to have white sketches and glow.
The strings were slightly inspired by “the red string of fate” which is the idea of an invisible red thread that ties two people who are destined to meet and be lovers. This is more of destined to meet and not the lovers aspect. In the end, the rainbow string was made to represent memories. Though it’s not shown in the story, it’s referenced when you go to the Navigator
“*You find yourself waking up alone in a black void with many rainbow glowing strings swaying around, going up into the starry sky above endlessly.
*Upon closer inspection, you notice that in each string there seems to be reflecting a memory from the time we were together.
*Which memory would you like to see?”
There isn’t much but there are 2 completed panels that were cut
To be honest, careless Frisk is a ton of fun to do and I wished I kept this, but I decided to drop it due to the personality change I’ve done to Frisk during the development of Haunted Hearts. Originally, Frisk was going to have a god complex and not care at all about anything since they’re so desensitized to everything from resetting. I’ve changed it to them being afraid of change due to them not being able to use their star power. They’re still sarcastic and stuff.
Cut content that I did not draw was some dialogue bits. At the start when Frisk and Chara were hugging each other, they were going to talk about if there was an afterlife or if they can reincarnate. Frisk would chime in, saying they would love to be a dog or cat. Though it was scrapped, I plan on maybe having it show up in the future.
We not remember all of this at all , but all these facts are super cool to see , and love seeing what things looked like when sketched

Anyways , sadly this was the only behind the scenes post that was in our drafts . really wished we made more as love hear thoughts from years past . well be sure do that with reboot
