Lochia- the postpartum bleeding/healing period lasting up to 8 weeks.
I've been working on this piece since giving birth 4 months ago and it has both been a funeral for my old self and a rebirth to the woman I am now becoming. Comprised of many layers featuring clips spanning the years I've been making music as Temperance. I wove both old and new sounds to create something which is neither here nor there, but in between. Purging years of abuse, lies, manipulation and torment and using the blood to grow new flowers. Relieved to be shedding this old skin to begin anew. I shall see you on the other side....

for not the pleasures of man,
the blood prism of moon
shattered glass
under, but still
singing softly
in the shelter
of trees
