There was something so incredibly awkward about ending up in a room alone with Bruce Wayne. Of course, they didn’t get along, that was known to pretty much anyone and everyone. That they often butted heads on mission plans and on how to act. He knew how Bruce felt about him, all the explosive moments they had, arguments that almost turned physical...although he wasn’t above admitting that he was usually the one to attempt to turn it into a physical fight.

So, when Hal walked into the cafeteria to see Bruce reading a copy of the Gotham Gazette, he nearly walked right out of the room. Because in between explosive fights and loud arguments, there was just an uneasy, awkward silence. He would’ve found somewhere else to eat lunch but he made eye contact with Bruce and sighed.
