Derek looked down at Lydia. The look on her face as her hands adjusted and readjusted his tie over and over again. If it had been his decision the tie would’ve been long gone - along with the polished shoes and jacket. ‘ What’s the point - you’re never gonna be pleased ’
Lydia bites her bottom lip and smoothes her hands over the tie one last time.
“Oh hush. You’re picking at me for my OCD again and that is not very nice,” she says.
She steps back and her eyes rove over him, searching for imperfections. She nods her approval, “Okay. I think you look good. I think we’re both ready. Do I look okay?”
She was admittedly nervous. She had seen any of these people since she left for MIT and she was nervous.
