His threats only made the lost boy enjoy this, even more, chuckling heartlessly down at him but his cunning eye couldn’t help but notice the hook in his hand that resembled the one he remembered a certain codfish having. It was too much of a coincidence for Pan’s second to not question it.
“Nice hook.” He commented carefully, sensing the boy had quite an interesting story to tell, either that or he was just a damn fool and not worth his attention. “Maybe you have something to trade, after all, boy.” He nodded in reference to the hook. There was more than one way to get what information he wanted from the pirate youth. “Give me the hook and I might consider bending to your request.”
He wanted to get a good look at it and if it proved what he could only for the moment surmise, Pan would most certainly be interested to know that there was a boy who had some kind of tie with the codfish captain himself.
“Better think fast, the night’s coming on.” He lifted his gaze to the dimming sky above that was just now showing signs of twilight. “Wouldn’t want to be stuck out here after dark, leastwise not this neck of the jungle.” He was taunting the other but at the same time, he wasn’t exactly speaking lies. This section of the jungle just happened to be located on the outskirts of the darkest part of the jungle where all the nastiest creatures of Neverland inhabited. The boy would definitely be a helpless target for some grotesque monster and there were many of them who had acquired a taste for the flesh and blood of a human.
