You'll get some Lore on my beloved Morena

Morena is a Lowlands/Song Harpy. She hatched alone in a cave in the middle of the woods amidst a pile of broken shells and discarded animal bones, and for the first few helpless weeks of her life, she gnawed on those to survive, as well as crawling out into the sun to scavenge for various fruits and little animals like mice and birds

When Morena was a toddler, she managed to crawl onto a broken cart, and was taken into a small town where she learned rudamentary language from the street kids around her, stealing food to survive, snd eventually money once she puzzled out what it meant, and was eventually taken in by a baker and his wife, who gave her her name. But a few years later, when she was 9, she overheard that the baker was sick, and that they didn't have enough money for a cure. So, knowing that she took a lot of money to take care of, so she left everything she owned besides a dress, and ran away, sneaking onto another cart and leaving for good.

At 12, Morena is a beggar and a thief again, running around in alleyways and learning to forage as she eavesdrops on apocatharies and studies fruit she takes in order to go out into the forest and trial and error what's safe to eat. She's lucky for the most part, but eventually, she takes a mushroom she shouldn't, and gets so sick she nearly dies. A little medicine bought with stolen silver, and she recovers in her little dug-in shelter.

In the following years, Morena continued street hopping and sneaking aboard carts to get to new places, and one day, along with some other street kids, she comes across an old lady who leaves gift baskets for them, and as she sits, unpacking the fresh food and a new dress, even if it is a little too big, she decides that she wants to be like that lady. She wants to make people feel special, she wants to help, and she wants to be the one to pull people under her wings and tell them it's going to be okay.

So at 16, Morena sets off to find somebody, and eventually succeeds in getting an apprenticeship under an elderly Apocathary named Emirynn. Morena is raised by this woman and trained in the ways of potions and medicine and healing, as well as accomplishing an understanding of Runic life magic at 21.

At 24, Morena completes her Training, and Emirynn sends her off into the world to do some good, and so Morena does, setting up a little stand and selling dried herbs and little remedies for as cheap as she can handle, and asking some stray kiddos to help her collect some herbs at the payment that they get to keep any edible fruit they find, and she's happy, if not a bit lonely, and she sends a monthly letter back to Emirynn.

Until she's 26, and with a crack of thunder and an explosion rattling in the distance, the war begins.

A year in, Morena volunteers herself as a war medic, and in the ensuing three years swallowed by gore and violence, she both sees, ans experiences wounds no person should ever see. She refuses to give up on someone, even when she should, fighting her trembling hands and her fear, to hide them away from the world for a second, even if giving them their treatment results in another shredded nerve ending in her wings. She can still move them, but it aches, and they tremble, and she's quieter than she used to be, moving into an abandoned cabin outside of a merchant town after the war ends, her letters become only three times a year, and she sits quietly with a veteran friend of hers for tea every weekend, keeping up her medicine business.

And now, at 38, she sits quietly in her home, making tea, and watching the Sunrise. It is quiet, and it is home, but it's also the loneliest she's ever been.

She does her best to treat wounds left by the war, but she's too afraid to stick around longer in case she perpetuates those very wounds.

And it takes an angry green criminal and the sky ripping in two before she sees that some places may need her more than her quiet home ever could

Of course, neither of these two offensive fighting dumbasses will survive without a voice of reason or a healer, and what they need turns out to be exactly what she is: a Peacemaker with a nervous heart of gold

Harpies and Naga work the same way,

Harpies' physical traits work with what god they assign themselves to and they have evolved to exhibit differing traits with differing things

Highland Snow Harpies work as tribes, and their subspecies are birds of prey that can live in diciduous or colder climates, they worship the god of war, Korvius, and as such have much sharper teeth, eat almost exclusively meat, and survive much longer than any other Harpy when their bodies are put under strain, they also heal faster and develop higher stamina

Highland Song Harpies however, like their Lowland cousins, worship the goddess of family and community, Ylian, as such they're very fluffy and live like Snowy owls and other birds in insulated nests as one big family that go out to find mates in other tribes. As such, they're mostly white and brown and eat nuts and berries.

Lowland Harpies are extremely similar to Highland Songs and are very brown and occasionally green, they're highly capable of camoflague and are usually very jumpy and guard their own, but they're also the most likely to integrate into larger communities and societies with the other species

Shore Harpies are bird of paradise-coded and usually live only with thwir immediate family, peacefully chilling out and working for themselves, their tribal presence has majorly decreased due to their integration into society and the formation of Salt Harpies, their colorfulness has developed from danger-free secluded lives and worshipping grace and carefree living

Salt Harpies are War mutations of Shore Harpies converted to worshipping Korvius, and they've been paled into black and white, they BITE, HARD, and they have venom, longer claws, and stronger more solid bones than their original subspecies due to Korvius' blessings
