“What–?!” Her gut instinct was to deny, to refute the claim. So ingrained were the teachings of Master Eraqus that she still grimaced at the mention of the darkness. But, she couldn’t deny it, could she? So few possessed truly pure hearts, devoid of such corrosion… so where did that leave the vast majority of people? Nearly everyone carried some darkness within them, and Aqua was no exception. She bit her tongue, averting her gaze in shame, but it wasn’t enough to stop that hint of venom lacing her voice. Truly, recent events, and Xehanort’s plotting, had tarnished their friendship, “You would know, wouldn’t you..?”
