Even with all the grime and crime, the subtle hints of racism lapping at the parish lines surrounding us, even with the pot hole filled streets, the homelessness at every street corner asking you to roll down your window for a meager donation, even when the rains come fast and hard and someone forgets to turn on the drainage pumps and streets get flooded anyway. Not even gonna mention the politics, the upcoming mayoral race, hurricane season and termites. Yes, termites. But this is a city for artists; we rebuild, we create and we have coffee.
